EV and Hybrid Price Match Guarantee (Terms and Conditions)

1. Overview

During the Pilot Period, Cars24 Australia Pty Ltd (Cars24) will beat any verified written offer from an eligible competing dealer for a Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) or Full Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV), subject to our valuation of the vehicle. We do not just match offers; after re-valuating your car, we will pay $200 more than the verified competing offer price at settlement. Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs) are not eligible. This promotion is available only to individual vehicle owners in Victoria. 

2. Eligibility

2.1 Seller Eligibility

• The seller must be an individual located in Victoria.
• The seller must be the registered owner of the vehicle being sold.
• The offer must be submitted and accepted within the Pilot Period: 16 April 2026 to 22 April 2026 (Both dates inclusive).

2.2 Vehicle Eligibility

The following vehicle types are eligible for this promotion:

• Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs): vehicles powered solely by an electric motor with no internal combustion engine.
• Full Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEVs): vehicles with both an electric motor and an internal combustion engine, where the battery is charged through regenerative braking and the engine (not via external charging).

The following vehicle types are not eligible:

• Mild hybrid vehicles (MHEV), where the electric motor provides assistance only and cannot drive the vehicle independently.
• Plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs).
• Vehicles that Cars24 does not currently buy or accept under its sourcing criteria.(List is attached at the bottom) 
• Standard petrol or diesel vehicles with no electrified drivetrain.

All eligible vehicles must also meet the following conditions:

• The vehicle must be registered in Victoria at the time of submission.
• All cars older than 2022 must have a valid Battery Health Report obtained no more than 7 days prior to the valuation appointment.
• Vehicles with existing finance owing are also eligible, subject to verification and approval.
• The vehicle must be available for outright purchase. A vehicle for trade-in is not eligible for this offer.
• The vehicle must not be subject to any third-party ownership dispute, unless otherwise resolved prior to settlement. 
• The vehicle must be under warranty (valid for at least 3 months)
• All vehicles remain subject to Cars24’s inspection and final assessment. Cars24 is under no obligation to purchase any vehicle that fails inspection or otherwise does not meet Cars24’s eligibility and buying criteria.

2.3 Vehicle Identity and Condition Matching

• The competing offer must relate to the exact same vehicle identified by VIN or registration number.
• The vehicle condition, ownership history, accident disclosure, and mileage must match the vehicle presented to Cars24.
• Any material difference identified during Cars24 inspection may result in the price match being declined.
• Vehicles must not exceed 100 km additional mileage from the time the competing offer is issued.

3. Battery Health Report Requirement

A valid Battery Health Report is mandatory for all cars older than 2022. No offer will be accepted or price match applied without a Battery Health Report on file.

3.1 Free In-Yard Battery Health Report

• Cars24 offers a complimentary Battery Health Report service at the participating VIC location during the Pilot Period for select make models.
• To access this service, the seller must drive their vehicle to the designated Cars24 VIC yard in person. Home pick-up is not available for the Battery Health Report service.
• The report will be conducted by a trained Cars24 technician using approved diagnostic equipment.

3.2 Third-Party Battery Health Reports

• Battery Health Reports from third-party providers will be considered by Cars24’s professional experts.
• Accepted providers must use industry-standard diagnostic tools. Cars24 reserves the right to decline reports from unrecognised or non-approved providers.
• Reports must be issued on official letterhead or a verifiable digital format, and must include: vehicle VIN, state of health (SOH) percentage, date of assessment, and assessor credentials.

4. Price Match Guarantee

4.1 How the Price Match Works

1. Obtain a Cars24 valuation for your eligible vehicle via our agent on call by dropping your query on the Cars24 website during the Pilot Period.
2. Obtain a competing offer (refer to section 4.2). The offer must have a verifiable digital footprint, including but not limited to an email, SMS, or other electronic record. Forward the written competing offer to Cars24 within 24 hours of receiving it, from the original source wherever possible, so that Cars24 can verify its authenticity. 
3. Cars24 will review the competing offer. If verified as genuine, Cars24 will top the competing offer price by $200.
4. The seller must accept the matched offer on the same day it is presented. Offers are not held overnight.
5. Only one price match request is permitted per vehicle VIN or registration.
6. Once a price match is completed, no further competing offers will be considered.
7. The seller must proceed with the transaction within 24 hours of accepting the matched offer.

4.2 What Constitutes a Valid Competing Offer

• The offer must be in writing, on the competing buyer’s genuine authority or documentation on a verifiable platform or system.
• The offer must clearly state: vehicle make, model, year, VIN or registration, the offered purchase price, the date of the offer, and the name of the issuing branch or buyer, and must be capable of verification through a verifiable digital record.
• Verbal offers, screenshots of informal messages, or unverified digital printouts will not be accepted.
• The competing offer must be for outright purchase. Trade-in values, finance deals, or offers contingent on the purchase of another vehicle will not qualify.
• The offer must be issued by a verified dealership with at least 100 car listings published online.
• Offers from franchisee dealers are excluded and will not qualify.
• The competing offer must be dated no earlier than 3 days prior to being shared with Cars24.
• The competing offer must represent an unconditional buy-today purchase price.
• Offers subject to further inspection, auction outcomes, or future market pricing will not qualify.
• The competing offer must be issued by a licensed motor vehicle dealer operating from a physical location in Victoria with at least 100 cars listed on their platform.
• Offers from private buyers, classifieds platforms, auctions, wholesalers, or brokers will not qualify.
• Altered, edited, cropped, or partially visible documents will not be accepted.
• Cars24 reserves the right to request original email copies or contact the issuing dealer for verification.

4.3 Price topping exclusions

Cars24 reserves the right to decline a price match in the following circumstances:

• Any competing offer that does not satisfy the requirements set out in Section 4.2.
• The competing offer cannot be independently verified as genuine.
• The vehicle condition, declared mileage, or battery health (where applicable) differs materially from the vehicle presented to Cars24.
• The competing offer is conditional on additional services, finance arrangements, or trade-ins.
• The competing offer was obtained outside the Pilot Period.
• The vehicle does not meet the eligibility criteria under these Terms & Conditions, regardless of price.
• The competing offer appears inflated, non-commercial, or not reflective of market value.
• The competing offer contains typographical errors or pricing mistakes.
• The competing offer includes bundled incentives such as bonuses, vouchers, accessories, or conditional rebates.
• The competing offer is contingent on auction participation or bidding outcomes.
• The issuing dealer cannot confirm intent to purchase the vehicle at the quoted price.
• Multiple competing offers are presented sequentially for the same vehicle.
  

4.4  Price Beat Guarantee 

Where a competing offer is verified as genuine and meets all eligibility requirements under these Terms and Conditions, Cars24 will first assess the vehicle and provide its valuation subject to proper inspection. If Cars24’s offer is higher than the verified competing offer, Cars24 will purchase the vehicle at its higher quoted price. If Cars24’s offer is lower than the verified competing offer, Cars24 will beat that offer by AUD $200. The total amount payable above Cars24’s post inspection offer, including any amount needed to match the competing offer and the additional AUD $200, is capped at AUD $5,000. Payment will be made at settlement. This guarantee applies once per vehicle per seller and cannot be combined with any other Cars24 offer or promotion. 

5. General Terms

• This promotion is valid only in Victoria based locations. It does not apply to locations outside of Victoria.
• This promotion cannot be combined with any other Cars24 offer, promotion, or discount unless expressly stated.
• Cars24 reserves the right to withdraw, suspend, or modify this promotion at any time without prior notice.
• Cars24’s assessment of vehicle condition, battery health, and the offer price is final and binding, subject to the price-matching process outlined in Section 4.
• All transactions are subject to Cars24’s standard vehicle purchasing terms and conditions.
• Cars24 accepts no liability for any costs, losses, or expenses incurred by a seller in obtaining a competing offer.
• This promotion is not transferable and has no cash alternative.
• By participating in this promotion, sellers agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
• These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.
• The price match applies to vehicle purchase price only and excludes bonuses, trade incentives, fuel cards, accessories, or non-cash benefits.
• Cars24 reserves the right to limit participation if misuse, abuse, or gaming of the promotion is suspected.
• Cars24’s decisions on eligibility, validation, and price matching are final.

6. Privacy

Personal information collected in connection with this promotion will be handled in accordance with Cars24’s Privacy Policy. Vehicle details and competing offer information submitted as part of the price match process may be used by Cars24 for internal pricing and market analysis purposes.
