Jaguar Land Rover Australia has issued a safety recall for one 2018 Range Rover, citing a manufacturing defect in the high-voltage battery system that could lead to a loss of motive power or a vehicle fire.
What’s the defect, and why is it so serious?
According to the official recall notice (reference REC-006484, campaign D056), the high-voltage battery in the affected vehicle may experience cell degradation. Over time, this fault can lead to sudden power loss while driving or increase the likelihood of the battery catching fire.
Either scenario could pose a serious safety hazard to vehicle occupants, other road users, and nearby property.
