The new-generation Mazda CX-5 has been unveiled and is set to reach Australia sometime in 2026. But first, Mazda has updated the CX-5 family SUV for 2025.

The Mazda CX-5 gets more standard equipment across most grades, a new Touring FWD variant, and increased prices for turbocharged models by $500. The refreshed range is expected to be the final update for the current-generation CX-5. Prices now start at $36,740 before on-road costs for the entry-level G20 Maxx and go up to $55,650 for the flagship G35 Akera AWD.

Final thoughts

With the 2025 update, the Mazda CX-5 is offering strong value, more thoughtful features, and a refined design in the competitive mid-size SUV segment. The small price hike for turbocharged models is offset by additional equipment, while the introduction of the front-wheel-drive Mazda CX-5 Touring lowers the entry point for buyers seeking a higher-spec trim of the Japanese midsize SUV.

As the carmaker prepares to launch the all-new, hybrid-ready next-generation Mazda CX-5 in 2026, this 2025 update will ensure the current model bows out as a well-rounded and feature-rich family SUV.
