Positioned between the Tiguan and the Touareg
With both five- and seven-seat options and a strong standard equipment list even at base level, the Tayron fills the gap between Volkswagen’s midsize Tiguan and large luxury Touareg, while also serving as an internal combustion alternative to the electric ID.4 and ID.5.
According to Volkswagen Passenger Head of Product, Arjun Nidigallu, the Tayron builds on the strengths of the all-new Tiguan with added space, comfort, and value.
“The all-new Tayron is a highly competitive new entrant in the mainstream Large SUV segment, offering an elevated, generously equipped and supremely practical car to customers, at a price that substantially undercuts the established players,” he said.
With deliveries expected to commence soon, the Tayron is set to bolster Volkswagen’s presence in the increasingly competitive large SUV market in Australia.
