The 2026 Audi Q5 e-hybrid quattro marks the return of plug-in hybrid technology to Audi’s mid-size SUV range in Australia, arriving early next year. The new-generation Audi Q5 PHEV will be priced from $96,900 before on-road costs, matching the cost of new all-wheel-drive petrol models for the first time.
Available in both SUV and Sportback body styles, the Q5 e-hybrid quattro 270kW joins the Q5 TFSI quattro 200kW in Audi’s updated line-up, with deliveries to local showrooms scheduled between January and March 2026.
According to Audi, achieving price parity between petrol and plug-in hybrid variants was a strategic focus aimed at broadening interest in electrified models.
Audi Australia product manager Peter Strudwicke said:
“It wasn’t an easy negotiation. But with growing demand for hybrid vehicles and Australia’s New Vehicle Efficiency Standard, it made sense. We want to encourage customers to at least consider PHEV technology.”
