Cupra has introduced a new entry-level Tavascan V for its 2026 lineup, and this reduces the starting price of its electric SUV range by more than $5,000 in Australia.
Along with the new entry-grade variant, the updated lineup adds more standard equipment, revised technology and interior upgrades across the range.
The updated Tavascan range continues to combine expressive styling, engaging driving dynamics and everyday practicality. It’s designed and developed in Barcelona and built on Volkswagen Group’s dedicated MEB EV platform.
The updated line-up now consists of three variants, with the new rear-wheel-drive V becoming the Volkswagen Group’s first EV sold in Australia to use a lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery.
The revised range is scheduled to arrive in Australian Cupra showrooms in late August 2026, and it will bring new technology, additional standard equipment and specification upgrades across the range.
Pricing and release date of the 2026 Cupra Tavascan range
The new Cupra Tavascan V significantly lowers the entry price, and the continuing Endurance and VZ variants have both received price increases alongside additional equipment.

New Tavascan V becomes the entry point
The headline addition for MY26 is the new Tavascan V grade, which is designed to make Cupra’s electric SUV more accessible. It is, in fact, the Spanish carmaker’s most affordable EV in Australia, yet. Its key specifications include:
- Rear-wheel drive
- 140kW electric motor
- 58kWh lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery
- Approximately 414km WLTP driving range
Cupra says the combination is aimed at buyers who primarily use their vehicle for urban commuting and everyday driving.

Entry model remains well-equipped
The Tavascan V retains a high equipment level despite becoming the most affordable Tavascan. Its standard features include:
- Heated front seats
- Memory front seats
- Sennheiser premium audio system
- Dark Night Dinamica seat trim
- 360-degree camera
- 20-inch Heckla alloy wheels
Cupra says the specification closely mirrors the current Endurance fitted with the former optional Interior Package.
LFP battery supports 105kW DC charging
The new LFP battery in the Tavascan lineup supports DC fast charging at up to 105kW. Cupra says the battery can be recharged from 10 to 80% in approximately 26 minutes under ideal conditions.
The company says the new battery chemistry provides a balance of performance, efficiency and everyday usability.

- Rear-wheel drive
- 210kW electric motor
- 77kWh battery
- Approximately 520km WLTP driving range
The previously optional Interior Package becomes standard equipment for MY26. This increases its overall value while simplifying the model lineup.
The Endurance also gains Launch Control for the first time, which improves its standing-start performance.
Cupra says the combination of long driving range, rapid charging capability and expanded standard equipment strengthens the Endurance’s balance of practicality and performance.
VZ continues as the performance flagship
The range-topping Cupra Tavascan VZ remains Cupra’s highest-performance electric SUV. Its key specifications include:
- Dual-motor all-wheel drive
- 250kW combined power
- Approximately 509km WLTP driving range
The VZ now receives Launch Control as standard to further improve acceleration performance while maintaining everyday comfort. Cupra says the VZ continues to represent the performance benchmark within the Tavascan lineup.
2026 Cupra Tavascan interior and technology upgrades
The MY26 Tavascan lineup brings one of the biggest technology updates since its launch in Australia. Every variant now receives:
- Larger 10.25-inch digital instrument display (up from 5.3-in driver display)
- Physical steering wheel control
- Redesigned wireless phone charging tray
- Electrically operated air vents
- Speed sign recognition added to ADAS suite
- Software improvements to the infotainment system
- Enhanced audio system performance
Cupra has also expanded the colour palette for MY26. Midnight Black Metallic is now offered at no extra cost, while the Dark Void finish is now available across the entire range.
Practical premium SUV features
Cupra says the Tavascan continues to combine premium technology with everyday practicality. The spacious cabin offers:
- Generous passenger accommodation
- Large luggage space
- Distinctive Cupra interior styling
- High levels of standard equipment
The SUV continues to offer a spacious cabin, generous luggage capacity and a high level of standard equipment, making it suitable for daily commuting, weekend trips and family duties.
Bottom line
The 2026 Cupra Tavascan range became more accessible with the introduction of the new $55,490 Tavascan V. It lowers the Tavascan’s entry price by more than $5,000.
The Endurance and VZ receive more standard equipment, updated technology and new features such as Launch Control alongside the new LFP battery.
Cupra has focused on improving both value and the everyday ownership experience across its growing electric SUV lineup with larger displays, physical steering wheel buttons and enhanced software.
