Geely Auto Australia has announced pricing and key specifications for the all-new Geely EX2 ahead of its arrival in Australian showrooms in late July 2026.
It is designed as an affordable electric hatchback for urban driving. Already on sale in China, as the Geome Xingyuan, it was the world’s best-selling small EV and the overall best-selling model in China during 2025.
It has successfully maintained its dominant position through the first half of 2026. Its global success has generated strong interest ahead of its Australian arrival, with Geely reporting significant expressions of interest and pre-orders following its recent roadshow.
The upcoming EX2 EV can directly rival BYD Atto 1, BYD Dolphin, MG4 Urban EV, GAC Aion UT, and GWM Ora 5 at a highly disruptive starting price of $26,490 before on-road costs.

Rear-wheel drive and European-tuned handling
The EX2 uses a rear-wheel-drive layout combined with a multi-link independent rear suspension, rather than the more common torsion beam setup in the segment.
Power comes from an 11-in-1 electric motor, while the rear-wheel-drive architecture allows a maximum 41-degree front steering angle. This allows a tight 9.9-metre turning circle for improved manoeuvrability in urban environments.
Australian models also receive a unique ride and handling tune developed with Geely Technology Europe (formerly Lotus Tech Innovation Centre GmbH) to better suit European and Australian driving preferences.
2026 Geely EX2 exterior
The EX2 features a youthful design highlighted by front and rear LED lighting, semi-concealed door handles with keyless entry and 16-inch wheels with Yokohama tyres across both variants.
Buyers can choose from six exterior colours: Moon White (standard), Star Silver, Comet Grey, Nebula Beige, Aurora Green, and Nova Pink.
The higher Inspire variant distinguishes itself with:
- 16-inch alloy wheels
- Contrasting black roof
- Decorative metallic exterior accents
- Power tailgate
- Rain-sensing wipers
2026 Geely EX2 interior
The EX2 is built on Geely’s Global Intelligent New Energy Architecture (GEA), shared with the Geely EX5 electric SUV and Starray EM-i plug-in hybrid. Its modular platform has been designed to maximise cabin space through several packaging innovations, which include:
- A 70-litre front storage compartment (frunk)
- Increased front passenger legroom through revised AC packaging
- Wider door openings for easier entry and exit
- A compact rear drive unit that allows a deeper luggage area
- Integrated front seats that create 28 litres of under-seat storage
The EX2 features more than 30 storage compartments. It has a 375-litre rear boot space and a 10-litre drawer-style glovebox.
Horizon Grey leather-like upholstery is standard, while Inspire buyers can opt for Skyline White trim at no additional cost.
