Honda UK has started taking orders for its ‘Kei’ concept-based Super-N EV. This compact city electric hatch is confirmed to arrive Down Under later this year.

The new EV directly rivals the BYD Atto 1 (sold there as the Dolphin Surf) in the UK in both size and price. Australian pricing has yet to be announced, but early indications suggest the Super-One could land close to the $30,000 mark.

2026 Honda Super-One EV expected pricing

There is no official word on the pricing of the Honda Super One EV, but there are several clues that can help estimate the price.

The BYD Atto 1 Essential currently starts at $23,990 (before on-road costs) in Australia, putting Honda’s newcomer in a similar affordable EV bracket. Honda Prelude is priced at £41,595 in the UK. Honda Super-One’s pricing could be roughly 46% of the Prelude’s price.

In Australia, Honda Prelude is priced at $65,000 (drive-away), so the Honda Super-One could arrive at around $29,900 (drive-away).

The compact Honda EV is already on sale in Japan.

Honda Super-One EV range comparison

According to UK specifications, the Honda Super N uses a 29.6kWh battery delivering a range of 206km (WLTP). Honda says urban driving conditions can extend that figure to as much as 320km, but its official combined range remains lower than several rivals.

The Honda also lags behind its rivals on outright power output. The Super-One produces 47kW in normal driving mode and 70kW when Boost mode is activated.

Honda: New compact EV is for the driving enthusiasts

Despite the modest performance figures, Honda says the Super-One has been engineered with driving enjoyment as a priority. During its reveal at last year’s Tokyo Motor Show, Honda highlighted several enthusiast-focused features, including:

  • A dedicated Boost mode
  • A simulated gear shifter
  • Artificial engine sound effects

The company believes these features will deliver a more engaging driving experience than many conventional small EVs.

Compact dimensions with clever packaging

The Honda Super-One’s tiny footprint is one of its defining characteristics. Its dimensions include:

  • Length: 3599mm
  • Width: 1573mm

Inside, there is seating for four occupants. A standout feature is Honda’s clever second-row “Magic Seats”, which can:

  • Fold flat to increase cargo space, or
  • Fold upward to accommodate taller items

The Super-One also weighs just 1097kg, benefiting from its kei-car-inspired platform.

Technology and equipment

UK-market Super One EV versions are equipped with:

  • Bose premium sound system
  • 9.0-inch infotainment touchscreen
  • Apple CarPlay
  • Android Auto

Australian specifications are yet to be confirmed

Bottom line

The 2026 Honda Super-One is shaping up as a distinctive new entrant in Australia’s affordable EV segment, with an expected price around $29,900 drive-away.

While it trails rivals such as the BYD Atto 1 and Fiat 500e in battery size, driving range and power output, Honda is betting on its lightweight design, clever interior packaging and driver-focused features to attract buyers looking for a fun and characterful city EV.
