Lexus Australia has confirmed pricing and specifications for its new LX700h hybrid SUV, due to arrive in local showrooms in the first half of 2026. It is positioned above the existing diesel and petrol variants. The Lexus LX700h introduces a new hybrid powertrain to the large luxury SUV, with higher outputs than any previous Lexus hybrid models.
The LX700h will be offered across three trim levels within the Lexus LX range, skipping the entry-level Luxury and off-road-focused Overtrail grades. Instead, the flagship hybrid will be available exclusively in Sports Luxury (five- and seven-seat) and F Sport (five-seat) variants.

Lexus LX700h joins the range
The LX700h becomes the new flagship of the Lexus LX family, priced $19,700 above the equivalent LX500d diesel and $16,200 more than the LX600 petrol in Sports Luxury five-seater form.
Unlike other LX variants, the hybrid is not available in Luxury or Overtrail trims, reflecting its positioning within the upper end of the large luxury SUV segment. Despite its electrified powertrain, Lexus has confirmed the LX700h retains the full 3500kg braked towing capacity of the rest of the range.
Lexus LX700h performance & hybrid system
The LX700h becomes the most powerful hybrid Lexus has ever produced, delivering a combined output of 341kW and 790Nm. This exceeds the outputs of the Lexus RX500h and also makes it the highest-torque model currently offered from the marquee. Lexus claims the hybrid assistance improves throttle control in Multi-Terrain Select modes such as Rock, Dirt and Deep Snow.
Here’s a breakdown of the key powertrain specifications for the Lexus LX700h:
| Specification | Lexus LX700h |
| Engine | 3.5L Twin turbo-petrol V6 |
| Electric Motor | Single electric motor |
| Engine Output | 305kW/600Nm |
| Electric Motor Output | 36kW250Nm |
| Combined Power | 341kW |
| Combined Torque | 790Nm |
| Transmission | 10-speed automatic (Torque converter) |
| Drivetrain | Full-time 4WD with low range |
| Fuel Economy (Claimed) | 10.0L/100km |
| Towing Capacity | 3500kg |
Lexus LX700h hybrid features
Hybrid-specific additions include a 1500-Watt mains power inverter and a household outlet in the cargo area, allowing owners to power small appliances when camping or touring.
Lexus has also retained a conventional 12-volt starter battery, starter motor and alternator, which are isolated from the hybrid system. This setup is designed to keep the vehicle mobile even if a hybrid system fault is detected, a feature intended to support operation in remote locations.
The addition of the hybrid battery does impact cargo capacity. Five-seat LX700h models drop from 1109 litres to 889 litres, while the seven-seat version measures 883 litres to the second row.
Efficiency and towing capability
Despite its performance focus, Lexus claims a combined fuel consumption of 10.0L/100km for the LX700h, improving on the LX600 petrol’s 11.9L/100km figure. It is, however, less efficient than the LX500d diesel, which is rated at 8.9L/100km.
As with the rest of the LX range, the LX700h retains a 3500kg maximum braked towing capacity, with towing capacity unchanged compared with other LX variants.
Range updates and equipment changes
Alongside the launch of the LX700h, Lexus has made the previously optional Enhancement Package standard on LX500d and LX600 Luxury variants. This adds 22-inch alloy wheels, a hands-free powered tailgate and a moon roof.
At the same time, the previously range-topping four-seat LX600 Ultra has been discontinued with no direct replacement.
Lexus LX700h market positioning
With its blend of V6 performance, hybrid assistance and the existing off-road and towing capabilities of the LX platform, the LX700h sits at the top of Lexus’ SUV range in terms of output and pricing.
It is targeted at buyers prioritising higher power outputs and premium specifications in a large off-road SUV, with its near-$20,000 price premium over the diesel indicating Lexus has positioned the LX700h as a higher-priced alternative to the diesel and petrol variants.
