Nissan Australia has announced full pricing and specifications for the 2026 Nissan Navara, ahead of the new-generation ute’s arrival in local showrooms in March 2026. The latest Navara introduces a simplified four-variant line-up, higher entry pricing, and a stronger focus on dual-cab 4×4 buyers, while sitting above its closely related Mitsubishi Triton in price.

The fifth-generation Navara also marks the model’s 40th anniversary in Australia, where more than 425,000 examples have been sold since its local debut in 1986.

2026 Nissan Navara line-up simplified

2026 Nissan Navara

At launch, the 2026 Nissan Navara range will be offered exclusively as dual-cab 4×4 pick-ups with a six-speed automatic transmission. Nissan has removed manual gearboxes, 4×2 variants, and single-cab or king-cab body styles from the initial line-up.

The four available grades are:

  • Nissan Navara SL
  • Nissan Navara ST
  • Nissan Navara ST-X
  • Nissan Navara PRO-4X

According to Nissan, more than 90 per cent of outgoing Navara buyers opted for dual-cab automatic 4x4s, prompting the streamlined approach.

Pricing for the 2026 Nissan Navara before on-road costs is as follows:

Navara ST Dual Cab 4×4 Auto$56,765
Navara ST-X Dual Cab 4×4 Auto$63,177

With no lower-cost 4×2 or cab-chassis variants available, the entry price to the Navara range increases significantly. Like-for-like price rises compared with the outgoing model range from under $1000 to more than $6000 depending on grade.

More expensive than Mitsubishi Triton

Mitsubishi Triton
Mitsubishi Triton

The new Nissan Navara shares its platform and powertrain with the Mitsubishi Triton, developed under the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance. However, Nissan has positioned the Navara at a premium.

Compared with equivalent Triton grades, the Navara is priced approximately:

  • $1900 higher at entry level
  • Up to nearly $3800 higher at the top end

Nissan says this price gap is justified by higher standard equipment, locally tuned suspension, and lower capped-price servicing costs.

Suspension calibration varies by grade:

  • SL and ST: tuned for towing and load carrying
  • ST-X: prioritises on-road comfort and refinement
  • PRO-4X: receives a unique off-road-focused tune
