The all-new Y63-series Nissan Patrol has officially received the Nismo treatment. Debuting overnight in Dubai, the performance flagship SUV packs more power, revised dynamics and a commanding aesthetic, offering more than just a cosmetic upgrade.
NISMO performance upgrades
At the core of the all-new Nissan Patrol Nismo is a specially tuned twin-turbocharged 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine, now producing 369kW — up 52kW on the standard model. Peak torque remains at 700Nm in Sport mode, making it the most powerful Patrol to date. That’s also a fair bit more poke than the Saudi-spec Nissan Patrol with the 5.6-litre V8 which puts out 298kW and 520Nm.

A recalibrated nine-speed automatic transmission, sharper steering, and enhanced Vehicle Dynamic Control aim to deliver a more engaging on-road experience. Suspension tuning has also been revised specifically for this variant.
Launch timing and Australian possibility
Sales of the Nissan Patrol Nismo in Saudi Arabia and the UAE begin in July 2025. While Nissan Australia hasn’t confirmed local availability, it hasn’t ruled it out either.

“Australia is confirmed as the first right-hand drive market for Y63 Patrol with orders due to open in late 2026,” said a Nissan spokesperson. “We will confirm specification closer to the launch.”
NISMO design: Aggressive, aerodynamic and functional
The Nismo variant of the Nissan Patrol stands out with distinctive red accents, a Formula E-inspired rear fog light, and 22-inch forged alloy wheels co-developed with RAYS. These wheels are 23% lighter than the standard units and come fitted with high-performance tyres.
Aerodynamic additions include:
- Layered air diffusers and side splitters
- A restyled front bumper with air curtains and spoiler cross-section splitters
- Enlarged front and rear overhangs
- Optional Stealth Grey exterior paint, alongside Pearl and Metallic finishes
The Nismo Patrol is 90mm longer and 40mm wider than the regular version, which aids its high-speed stability, albeit at the cost of off-road prowess.
Off-Road Sacrifices

Compared to the standard Patrol, the Nismo version sits 49mm lower, reducing key off-road metrics:
Patrol Nismo | Patrol | |
Length | 5295mm | 5205mm |
Width | 2070mm | 2030mm |
Height | 1945mm | 1945mm |
Wheelbase | 3075mm | 3075mm |
Front overhang | 1020mm | 990mm |
Rear overhang | 1200mm | 1140mm |
Approach angle | 23° | 27.5° |
Breakover angle | 26° | 27° |
Departure angle | 25.5° | 27° |
Min. ground clearance | 195mm | 244mm |
Kerb weight | 2817kg | 2813kg |
This positions the Nismo as a road-biased performance SUV rather than a trail conqueror. It’ll also be interesting to see how long before the Nissan tuners can offer a 1,000hp version with a lift kit to undo the off-road compromises.
NISMO interior: Red accents and motorsport flair

The cabin features a bold black-and-red colour scheme, highlighted by:
- Suede and leather trim with contrast stitching
- Red seat belts and Nismo logos
- Aluminium pedals and red start/stop button
- Honeycomb-quilted sport seats with integrated headrests
- Carbon fibre and metallic decorative finishes
Despite the performance focus, eight-seat capacity is retained — maintaining the Patrol’s family-friendly credentials.
Looking ahead
The Y63 Patrol Nismo reflects Nissan’s growing commitment to performance SUVs. While it’s confirmed for Middle Eastern markets by mid-2025, its future in Australia remains under discussion.

With local orders for the standard Y63 Patrol opening in late 2026, an Australian debut for the Nismo variant could follow, potentially bringing the boldest version of the Patrol yet to local shores in 2027.
