Toyota has officially revealed the facelifted 2026 Corolla Cross for Australia. The update brings a refreshed design, new features, and a dynamic new GR Sport flagship, all within a hybrid-only line-up set to hit showrooms in the second half of 2025.

New Corolla Cross GR Sport

Topping the range of the facelifted family car is the new Toyota Corolla Cross GR Sport variant, designed to inject a sportier character into the small SUV. It will be all-wheel drive only and includes performance-focused upgrades such as:

  • A unique front bumper inspired by the GR Corolla hot hatch
  • Darkened 19-inch GR Sport alloy wheels
  • Lowered coil springs, retuned shock absorbers, and recalibrated electric power steering
  • Sport mode and paddle shifters and tuned engine-braking for a sportier feel

Inside, European models reveal GR-specific touches like Brin-Naub suede-like sports seats with red contrast stitching and GR logos, though Australian interior specs are yet to be confirmed.

Refreshed styling across the range

The familiar variants of the 2026 Toyota Corolla Cross facelift now feature a redesigned front end, with a sleeker integrated mesh grille and updated LED headlight signatures from the GXL grade upwards. Select international versions also showcase new LED taillights with aerodynamic fins and embossed branding on the tailgate, though these details are unconfirmed for Australia.

Wheel designs have also been revised, with some grades featuring new 18-inch alloys.

Toyota has confirmed a fresh palette for the Corolla Cross, including:

  • Massive Grey, Ink, Ash Slate, Shadow Platinum, and Feverish Red
  • Carry-over shades like Glacier White and Frosted White
  • Optional two-tone black roof combinations are available on select variants

More tech and customisation options

Inside, European specification of the updated Corolla Cross benefits from a redesigned centre console with added storage, a new gear selector, revised cupholders, and wireless smartphone charging with 1.5x faster speed. Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are also supported.

Other features revealed overseas include ambient lighting enhancements, additional sound deadening, and a Snow Extra drive mode for AWD variants. Toyota Australia has not confirmed all of these features yet, but has promised increased standard specification across the GX, GXL, Atmos, and GR Sport grades.

No changes to the hybrid powertrain

No mechanical changes have been announced. Toyota Corolla Cross continues with the following:
