Toyota Motor Thailand has confirmed in its latest teaser video that the 2026 Toyota HiLux will be officially unveiled on Monday, November 10, 2025, at 2:30 pm AEDT.

The teaser, posted on the brand’s Thai social media channels, offers the first official glimpse of the long-awaited new-generation Toyota HiLux. Still, the early signs suggest this may be more of a major facelift than a complete model overhaul.

First teaser details

From the teaser images, the upcoming Toyota HiLux appears to adopt:

  • Slimmer headlights with a sharper LED signature
  • Revised tail-lights and a new alloy wheel design
  • A retro-style “TOYOTA” script across the tailgate

It’s a fresh look, but not a radical one, hinting that Toyota’s “new-generation” ute might be sticking closer to its decade-old platform than expected. What’s that saying again? If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it? Well, that seems to be the decision based on the Hilux’s present-day sales.

What’s under the bonnet?

Toyota Hilux

According to recent regulatory filings, the all-new Toyota HiLux (codename AN2), here’s what we know so far about its powertrain options:

  • Drop the 2.7-litre petrol engine
  • Future of the 2.4-litre diesel is uncertain
  • Retain and expand the 2.8-litre turbo-diesel across more variants

Mild-hybrid tech, already available in select high-end HiLux trims, is expected to carry over. Non-electrified and manual transmission versions have also been homologated for the Australian market. There’s also an electric Toyota Hilux in the works but still some way away from being market-ready.

Interior leaked details

Leaked photos of the cabin reveal a dashboard design inspired by the new Toyota LandCruiser Prado, complete with:

  • A larger infotainment display
  • Digital instrument cluster
  • Revised layout and materials

This could mark one of the most significant updates to the HiLux’s interior in years, finally bringing it in line with newer rivals.

What can we expect?

While Toyota is marketing this as an all-new HiLux, early indicators point to a heavy facelift for the dated model on sale in Australia today rather than a ground-up redesign. Still, with the model’s immense popularity across Australia and Southeast Asia, even incremental changes are bound to draw attention.

All will be revealed on November 10, when Toyota finally lifts the covers on its “new” HiLux.
