Priced from $55,990 before on-road costs, the refreshed electric small SUV gets a larger battery, a longer driving range, faster charging and a substantial technology upgrade.
Renault has also simplified the range to a single Esprit Alpine variant, adding equipment such as a 12-inch infotainment touchscreen, a Harman Kardon sound system, driver-recognition technology and new safety features.
New styling brings the Megane closer to the Scenic

Renault has refreshed the Megane E-Tech’s exterior with a new front bumper, LED front fog lights, redesigned tail-lights and new 20-inch alloy wheels. The changes bring its appearance closer to the newer Scenic E-Tech, which sits above the Megane in Renault’s electric vehicle range.
Flame Red is the standard exterior colour, while Rafale Grey has been removed from the palette.
The additional exterior paint options are:
- Diamond Black, Night Blue or Shadow Grey metallic for $900
- Flame Red with Diamond Black roof for $1100
- Diamond Black with Shadow Grey roof for $1100
- Night Blue with Diamond Black roof for $1100
- Shadow Grey with Diamond Black roof for $1100
- Shadow Grey matte with Diamond Black for $1300
- Slate Blue matte with Diamond Black for $1300
Dimensions and cargo capacity
Although VFACTS classifies the Megane E-Tech as a small SUV, Renault Australia refers to it as a hatchback, following the naming approach used for earlier Megane models.
| Length | 4200mm |
| Width, excluding mirrors | 1782mm |
| Height | 1519mm |
| Wheelbase | 2685mm |
| Cargo capacity, rear seats up | 440 litres |

Bigger battery, longer range and faster charging
Renault has replaced the outgoing model’s 60kWh nickel-manganese-cobalt (NMC) battery with a 67kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) unit. The change increases the claimed WLTP driving range from 454km to 480km. Charging is also quicker, with higher maximum 11kW AC and 165kW DC charging rates, which were previously 7.4kW and 130kW respectively.
| Specification | 2027 Renault Megane E-Tech |
|---|---|
| Motor | Single electric motor |
| Battery | 67kWh LFP |
| System output | 160kW / 300Nm |
| Drive type | Front-wheel drive |
| 0–100km/h | 7.6 seconds (claimed) |
| EV range | 480km (WLTP) |
| AC charging | 11kW |
| DC charging | 165kW |
The Megane E-Tech also gains vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality, allowing owners to power small electrical appliances using the vehicle’s battery. A new one-pedal driving mode increases regenerative braking enough to bring the car to a complete stop, reducing the need to use the brake pedal in suitable driving conditions. The Australian range continues with a single-motor, front-wheel-drive powertrain.

2027 Renault Megane E-Tech: Australian price
The facelifted Megane E-Tech costs $1000 more than its previous list price, which has applied since 2024, and despite the increase, Renault has added a considerable amount of standard equipment. The Esprit Alpine replaces the previous Techno grade as the sole variant available in Australia.
| Model | Price before on-road costs |
|---|---|
| 2027 Renault Megane E-Tech Esprit Alpine | $55,990 |
Customers who place a $200 online deposit by 31 December 2026, then purchase and take delivery of the vehicle, will receive a 7kW home charging adaptor valued at $749. Installation costs are not included, and the offer excludes government and fleet buyers
Renault Australia general manager Glen Sealey said the updated Megane E-Tech Esprit Alpine forms part of the company’s broader effort to revitalise its local model range. He acknowledged the intense competition in Australia’s new-car market, but said Renault expects the Megane to appeal to buyers who value distinctive styling, strong road-holding, intuitive cabin controls, well-calibrated safety systems and competitive electric driving range.
Sealey said Renault opened orders early to allocate vehicles fairly across its dealer network, minimise waiting times and help customers receive their cars sooner.
