Key highlights:

  • Torcal S First Edition delivers 653kW and 1,350Nm
  • The electric SUV reaches 100km/h in 2.9 seconds
  • Australian deliveries are expected by late 2027

Bentley has revealed a more powerful, more lavish version of its first all-electric SUV, called the Torcal First Edition. The special launch model combines the range-topping Torcal S electric drivetrain with exclusive styling, upgraded cabin materials and extra technology.

It made its world premiere in London, just a month after Bentley unveiled the standard Torcal in September. The electric SUV and its First Edition are also heading to Australia, although local pricing and order details remain unconfirmed.

Bentley uses its First Edition badge for highly specified launch models during the initial production run of a new or heavily redesigned vehicle, and these versions typically bundle significant performance, styling and technology upgrades into the package. Bentley has used the First Edition name before, although several other manufacturers also use the same label, including Dodge, Ford and Lexus.

Exterior upgrades

The Torcal First Edition sits on the Torcal S platform and initially tops the electric SUV’s range, and its extra hardware and exclusive design details distinguish it from the standard model.

The First Edition receives carbon-fibre components across several exterior areas: Front bumper winglets, exterior mirror caps, side sills, and rear diffuser.

Its most noticeable visual change comes from a set of distinctive 22-inch alloy wheels finished in black and Liquid Silver, and the wheels feature self-levelling Bentley badges and reveal special Mulliner Graphene Grey brake callipers.

Other exclusive details include First Edition badges on the front wheel arches and illuminated metal tread plates inside the doors.

Electric powertrain and performance

The First Edition uses the same 113kWh battery, dual-motor setup and 800-volt electrical architecture as the Torcal S. Bentley quotes combined outputs of 653kW and 1,350Nm and, with launch control engaged, the electric SUV accelerates from 0–100km/h in 2.9 seconds and reaches a top speed of 260km/h.

It also supports DC ultra-fast charging at up to 400kW, and under suitable conditions, the battery can charge from 10 to 80% in less than 20 minutes.

A more exclusive cabin

Bentley has also given the First Edition’s interior a more extensive range of personalisation options. Mulliner offers two exclusive colour splits, along with eight accent colours, and buyers can also introduce a third interior colour. A full-leather interior and contrasting stitching are also available.

Standard cabin upgrades include gloss carbon-fibre accents and deep-pile floor mats. The front seats feature Bentley’s Wellness package, with heating, ventilation and massage functions. Rear passengers receive Comfort Seats with ventilation and pillow-padded head restraints.

The First Edition also adds several high-end features as standard, such as the Frosted Diamond Switchable Sunroof that switches between opaque and clear using switchable-glass technology (PDLC), electrically powered front and rear doors, and a Naim audio system of 28 speakers producing 1,780 watts and supporting Dolby Atmos.

Australia launch and pricing

Bentley has confirmed that both the Torcal EV and its exclusive First Edition are coming to Australia. The brand builds right-hand-drive vehicles at its Crewe headquarters in the UK, which supports local availability.

Bentley has not yet opened its Australian order books or confirmed final local pricing. Global production is scheduled to begin in the UK in the second quarter of 2027, with the first international deliveries expected around the middle of that year.

Local automotive insiders expect the first Australian customer deliveries to arrive by late 2027. Bentley has also not confirmed whether it will limit First Edition production.
