BMW has revised pricing for its fully electric compact SUV lineup in Australia, making the BMW iX1 and BMW iX2 more accessible than before.

The updated pricing positions the iX1 xDrive30 at $77,900 (before on-road costs), while the iX2 xDrive30 is now priced at $79,900. In addition, BMW has introduced a new iX1 xDrive30 Sport Collection variant, available at a national driveaway price of $79,900, offering added value through extra features.

Revised pricing and new variant

BMW’s latest pricing adjustment aims to strengthen its position in the growing electric SUV segment. The introduction of the Sport Collection variant also simplifies the buying decision by bundling popular features into a single package.

Key pricing:

ModelPrice
BMW iX1 xDrive30$77,900* (plus on-road costs)
BMW iX2 xDrive30$79,900* (plus on-road costs)
BMW iX1 xDrive30 Sport Collection$79,900 (driveaway)

Performance remains unchanged

BMW iX1 and iX2

Both models continue with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive (xDrive) setup, delivering:

  • Power: 230kW
  • Torque: 494Nm

This setup ensures strong acceleration and responsive performance, consistent with BMW’s focus on sporty electric driving dynamics.

Silicon carbide tech boosts efficiency

The pricing update follows earlier technical enhancements to both models, including the introduction of silicon carbide (SiC) inverters.

These components improve:

  • Energy efficiency
  • Power delivery
  • Potential driving range

While updated range figures are yet to be confirmed, BMW states that the new technology will enhance overall performance and battery capability.

New BMW iX1 Sport Collection: key features

The newly introduced Sport Collection variant of the iX1 adds a curated set of premium features, including:

  • M Sport package
  • 19-inch M light-alloy wheels
  • Adaptive M suspension
  • Alpine White exterior finish
  • Veganza upholstery (Black)
  • Heated front seats
  • Head-Up Display
  • Surround View camera
  • Driving Assistant Professional

This variant targets buyers looking for a well-equipped electric SUV without navigating multiple optional extras.

Strong sales performance in Australia

Both models have performed well in the Australian market:

  • The BMW iX1 has been BMW’s best-selling electric vehicle locally for the past three years
  • The BMW iX2 ranked as the second best-selling BMW EV in 2025

The iX1 has also received multiple category wins in independent Car of the Year testing programs, reinforcing its position in the premium compact EV space.

Market impact

With more competitive pricing and improved technology, BMW is clearly targeting a broader audience in the premium EV segment. The revised price points bring the iX1 and iX2 closer to key rivals, while the added Sport Collection variant improves overall value.

Further details on updated driving range and performance figures are expected closer to the models’ next rollout phase.
