Cadillac, the luxury vehicle division of General Motors (GM), has launched its Connected Services in Australia. From now on, all new (mostly electric) Cadillac vehicles delivered in Australia will include this technology kit, and existing owners can also receive it through a free upgrade.

2025 Cadillac Lyriq SUV owners in Australia already enjoy the Connected Services. Cadillac will provide eight years of free connectivity to this software suite from the date the vehicle is first registered.

About the Cadillac Connected Services in Australia

Cadillac Connected Services offer car owners more control and information about their vehicle through digital tools. This new software suite includes:

  • Connected infotainment
  • OTA (over-the-air) software updates
  • Remote vehicle access through the Cadillac Mobile App

All MY2026 Cadillac EVs sold in Australia and New Zealand will include eight years of Connected Services from first registration.

Connected vehicle services were once mainly offered by brands like Tesla in Australia. These features are now available in Australia and New Zealand.

Unlike Cadillac in the US, Cadillac Australia will not remove Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, and the two will remain standard in the upcoming Cadillac Lyriq-V, Optiq, and Vistiq electric SUVs. Cadillac’s connected infotainment system also has Google built-in which gives access to Google Maps, Google Assistant, and Google Play Store.

General Motors Australia and New Zealand Managing Director, Jess Bala, even said “In today’s highly connected world, customers expect to be able to access everything they need from their smartphones, and the Cadillac Mobile App means that they will now be able to communicate with their vehicles, and check on them, which opens up a whole new world of convenience and amenity.”

What happens for existing Cadillac owners

Existing Cadillac owners won’t miss out on this service and can upgrade their car’s technology at no cost. Cadillac has contacted current owners to explain how they can receive the free software update. Appointments will be organised on a case-by-case basis to suit each customer, and depending on where the customer lives.

The update cannot be done at home through the internet, but Cadillac Australia is offering flexible service options. The company will use Cadillac service centres (including Sydney and Melbourne), Cadillac mobile service, Cadillac certified service partners, and pick-up and drop-off services to install the software upgrade.

Cadillac vehicles will support OTA (over-the-air) software updates in the future. The Cadillac Connected Services will also be included in the upcoming Lyriq-V, Optiq, and Vistiq SUVs in 2026.
