Cupra has launched a nationwide run-out campaign for its plug-in hybrid SUV, the Formentor VZe, making it significantly more attainable for Australian buyers. As part of the initiative, the MY24 Cupra Formentor VZe is now available from $47,990 drive-away, inclusive of the Leather and Camera Package and a panoramic sunroof at no additional cost. That’s a price cut of well over $20,000!

The announcement follows the end of the federal Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) exemption for plug-in hybrids on 1 April 2025. To support buyers through this transition, Cupra has introduced its own e-hybrid subsidy, designed to maintain accessibility to electrified mobility. While not a direct replacement for the former FBT exemption, the initiative underscores the brand’s commitment to affordable hybrid options. Behind the company statements, the Formentor PHEV’s sales have also experienced a major decline since the FBT ended, forcing Cupra to try another approach to offload existing inventory.
European design and hybrid technology
The Formentor VZe distinguishes itself with sharp European design and a premium standard specification. Powered by a 1.4L Turbo-petrol engine paired with an electric motor, the SUV delivers a combined 180kW and 400Nm through a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission with paddle shifters.

It can travel up to 50km in electric mode, and claims fuel consumption figures as low as 1.9 L/100 km on the combined cycle. Dynamic chassis control, adaptive suspension, 19-inch alloy wheels, and Cupra’s precise chassis tuning ensure performance credentials that set it apart in the PHEV segment.
Comprehensive equipment as standard
The MY24 Formentor VZe run-out offer also enhances value with a high level of standard equipment, including:
- 10.25-inch digital cockpit
- 12-inch infotainment system with navigation
- Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
- Wireless phone charging and DAB+ digital audio
- Tri-zone climate control
- Heated, leather-appointed steering wheel
- Full LED headlights with Light Assist and dynamic tail-lights
- Hands-free power tailgate
The offer also includes the Leather and Camera Package, featuring Nappa Leather upholstery with power-adjustable, heated driver’s seat, and a panoramic sunroof.

On the safety front, the Formentor VZe includes a suite of driver assistance features such as Adaptive Cruise Control with Travel Assist, Lane Assist, Front Assist and pedestrian and cyclist detection, Side Assist, Park Assist, Emergency Assist, and Driver Fatigue Monitor.
Available while stocks last
The Cupra Formentor VZe run-out is available now across Australia, while stocks last. With its revised pricing, generous equipment levels, and the brand-backed e-Hybrid Subsidy, the Formenor VZe offers one of the most compelling entry points into European-designed plug-in hybrid ownership.

The facelifted version of the Cupra SUV is due to arrive in Australia in early 2026, with a new powertrain package that offers more EV-only range.
