Ferrari has introduced a new  Handling Speciale configuration for the Ferrari Purosangue, aimed at enhancing the performance and driver engagement of its first four-door, four-seater model without compromising usability.

Sharper responses, tighter control

The Handling Speciale package focuses on recalibrating the Purosangue’s active suspension and vehicle dynamics systems. Ferrari claims body roll has been reduced by 10 per cent, resulting in a more controlled and responsive feel, particularly during rapid directional changes and cornering.

The model retains its core architecture, including a front-mid-mounted naturally aspirated V12 engine paired with a rear-mounted gearbox in a transaxle layout.

Revised shift strategy and enhanced sound

Ferrari has also updated the transmission’s shift logic to deliver quicker and more decisive gear changes. These improvements are most noticeable in ‘Race’ and ‘ESC-Off’ modes, where acceleration feels more immediate.

In manual mode, gear shifts become more aggressive at engine speeds above 5,500 rpm, improving driver involvement. A dedicated sound calibration further amplifies the V12’s character, particularly during start-up and acceleration.

Subtle but distinct design updates

While proportions remain unchanged, the Handling Speciale configuration introduces exclusive styling elements, including:

  • New diamond-cut wheel design
  • Carbon-fibre side shields
  • Matt black exhaust tips
  • Black rear Prancing Horse badge
  • Satin-finish Ferrari script
  • Dedicated interior plaque

These updates are intended to visually differentiate the variant without altering its overall design identity.

Seven-year maintenance programme included

The Purosangue with Handling Speciale is covered under Ferrari’s seven-year Genuine Maintenance programme, which includes scheduled servicing every 20,000 km or annually, with no mileage cap. The programme is available globally and extends to pre-owned Ferrari models.

Ferrari says the introduction of the Handling Speciale configuration strengthens the Purosangue’s positioning in the luxury high-riding performance segment, offering a more focused driving experience while maintaining everyday practicality.

What does it mean for Australian buyers?

For Australian customers, the Handling Speciale configuration on the Ferrari Purosangue is less about accessibility and more about specification choice.

With the Purosangue already heavily allocated and effectively sold out into 2026, new buyers are unlikely to secure a build slot in the near term. Instead, the Handling Speciale package is expected to be offered primarily to existing order holders or through Ferrari’s bespoke ordering process.

For those who can access it, the configuration provides a more driver-focused setup, tighter body control, sharper shifts, and a more pronounced V12 character, without sacrificing the everyday usability that underpins the Purosangue’s appeal.

In practical terms, Australian buyers will need to weigh whether the added dynamic edge justifies the likely price premium and longer wait times, particularly when compared with alternatives like the Lamborghini Urus and Aston Martin DBX707, which remain more readily available.
