Ford Australia declares Fadi Mawal as the new President and CEO

Ford has announced that Fadi Mawal will become President and CEO of Ford Australia and New Zealand. He will start this new leadership role on January 1, 2026 and succeed Andrew Birkic, who held the role for five years. Fadi Mawal has worked at Ford for 31 years and has experience in finance, strategy, and sales.

Fadi Mawal’s career at Ford

Fadi Mawal joined Ford in the early 1990s as a forklift driver in a Ford parts and service warehouse in Melbourne. He later moved into the finance department, where he worked for 15 years, gaining wide experience before joining Ford’s Asia Pacific Strategy team.

In 2016, Mawal became Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for Ford Australia and New Zealand and held the role for four years. From 2020 to 2022, he served as Sales Director for the region.

More recently, in May 2022, Mawal became CFO of Ford International Markets Group, which is based in Bangkok. He managed financial planning and governance across many regions, including Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, Vietnam, Phillipines, Africa, and the Middle East.

After five years as President and CEO of Ford Australia and New Zealand, from August 2020 to December 2025, Andrew Birkic will move to a new position. He will become Vice President, Sales and Service for Ford International Markets Group.

Ford’s official response to this leadership change
