Ford has recalled 167 vehicles, citing a SYNC software fault that may affect the rear-view camera and infotainment system. Affected Ford models include the Endure, Escape, Ranger, Mustang, and Focus, built between 2018 and 2023. If you own any of these vehicles, it’s time to check your VIN; your rear view might not be as reliable as you think.
The recall was published on August 1, 2025, under reference number REC-006401.

What are the defects, and why is it so serious?
The affected models are experiencing issues with the display of the rear-view camera, which may fail to appear while reversing or continue to display while driving. It may also lead to the infotainment system malfunctioning and showing a blank screen, an incorrect language setting, and/or a potential inability to perform software updates.
This issue may increase the risk of accidents by limiting rear visibility, disabling infotainment functions, or distracting the driver due to unexpected system malfunctions.
