The MY27 Geely Starray EM-i Inspire Extended Range gets a bigger 29.8kWh battery, more EV range and faster charging for a $1,500 premium.
Geely Auto has updated the Starray EM-i plug-in hybrid SUV range for Australia, introducing a new Extended Range version with a bigger battery pack, improved charging speeds and nearly 1,000km of claimed driving range.
The updated MY27 Geely Starray EM-i Inspire Extended Range replaces the outgoing 18.4kWh battery with a 29.8kWh unit, boosting WLTP-rated electric-only driving range from 83km to 136km. Total claimed driving range has also increased from 943km to 996km.

Faster charging and better efficiency

Geely has also improved DC fast-charging capability for the larger battery pack, with peak charging speeds increasing from 30kW to 60kW. The carmaker claims a 30-80 per cent charge can now be completed in 16 minutes under ideal conditions.
Claimed combined fuel consumption has also dropped from 2.4L/100km to 1.4L/100km.
The entry-level Geely Starray EM-i Complete variant remains unchanged and continues with the existing 18.4kWh battery pack. It retains its claimed 83km electric-only range and 943km combined range.

MY27 Geely Starray EM-i new features

Along with the upgraded battery, the MY27 Starray EM-i range gains several new features, including:
- 5m Mode 2 charging cable
- Towing preparation
- Trailer stability assist
The flagship Inspire Extended Range variant also adds a front-seat massage function.

Pricing for the MY27 Geely Starray EM-i range is as follows:

The new Inspire Extended Range costs $1,500 more than the outgoing Inspire variant.
Geely Starray EM-i Australia launch timing

Geely says the updated MY27 Starray EM-i range will arrive in Australian dealerships from late May 2026.
The 29.8kWh battery was previously used in the Geely Starray EM-i that completed a Guinness World Record fuel-efficiency drive between Sydney and Melbourne earlier this year. According to the company, the SUV recorded average fuel consumption of 3.83L/100km during the run.
