Geely Auto Australia has released the first over-the-air (OTA) software update for the Geely Starray EM-i in Australia.

The update began rolling out on 4 March 2026 and will be delivered to all local vehicles. It introduces several usability improvements, including smartphone connectivity, personalised driving profiles, and refinements to driver-assistance systems.

Owners can download and install the update remotely without visiting a dealership or service centre.

Android Auto and improved in-car connectivity

A key addition is Android Auto integration, enabling drivers to access supported smartphone apps directly from the vehicle’s infotainment display.

The system supports both wired and wireless connections, allowing users to connect their devices through a cable or wirelessly, depending on their preference.

New Drive Setup personalisation feature

The update also introduces a Drive Setup one-touch activation feature. This allows drivers to quickly apply their preferred vehicle settings through:

  • A steering-wheel shortcut button, or
  • A swipe-down action on the infotainment screen

The feature stores multiple personalised driving preferences so the vehicle can automatically configure them at the start of each trip.

Settings that can be customised include:

  • Drive Mode: Pure / Hybrid / Power
  • Energy Regeneration: Low / Medium / High / Auto
  • Lane Keeping Assist: On / Off
  • Emergency Lane Keeping Assistance: On / Off
  • Driver Fatigue Detection: On / Off
  • Speed Limit Alert: Off / Blinking icon / Blinking icon with sound alert
  • Battery Hold Settings: Off / Smart Battery Hold / Forced Battery Hold

Intelligent cruise control improvements

The OTA update also brings enhancements to the vehicle’s Intelligent Cruise Control system.

According to Geely Auto Australia, the revised system improves deceleration behaviour when approaching curves, resulting in smoother and more predictable speed adjustments.

Similar update previously rolled out to Geely EX5

Some of the new features, including Android Auto connectivity and Drive Setup shortcut activation, were previously introduced through an OTA update for the Geely EX5 in early February.

The company says the earlier rollout received positive feedback from owners.

OTA update installation

Drivers can download and install the update remotely through the vehicle’s connected services system.

Geely Auto Australia recommends using a home or smartphone Wi-Fi connection to ensure a stable download.

Detailed installation instructions are available through the Geely Connected Services section of the company’s Australian website.
