Genesis lifts the lid on long‑wheelbase 2025 Electrified G80

A bigger battery, stretched wheelbase and a raft of cabin tech headline Genesis’s updated all‑electric G80, though the luxury now starts £10,000 higher at A$155,000 plus costs.

Genesis has detailed the 2025 Electrified G80 ahead of first Australian arrivals late this year. The Korean flagship grows 130 mm between the wheels, picks up a fourth‑generation 94.5 kWh battery for a claimed 570 km WLTP range, and swaps its twin 14.5‑inch screens for a sweeping 27‑inch OLED panel. All of it comes packaged in a single, fully loaded Signature AWD grade priced at A$155,000 before on‑road costs – up A$10,000 on the launch model but A$34,000 shy of Mercedes‑Benz’s EQS 450.

Australian arrival

Order books open imminently, with the first long‑wheelbase Electrified G80s slated for the final quarter of 2025. Genesis expects the limousine to complement, rather than cannibalise, the shorter G80 range overseas, giving Australian buyers a single, fully specced EV alternative to BMW’s i5 M60 and Mercedes‑Benz EQE 350.

Genesis may have added length and luxury, but with a quicker charge and 30 km more range, the refreshed Electrified G80 also promises to spend less time tethered to a post and more time gliding in near‑silence – massage seats engaged, of course.
