GWM has revised the maintenance regime for Cannon utes fitted with the 2.4‑litre turbo‑diesel four‑cylinder. It is now aligned with popular dual‑cab rivals that already boast 15,000 km service gaps. The move lifts the capped‑price servicing window from 45,000 km to 70,000 km and pushes the first scheduled visit out to 12 months/10,000 km – instead of the previous six‑month/5000 km check‑up.

What changes for owners?

  • Service interval: now 12 months or 15,000 km (was 10,000 km).
  • Capped‑price coverage: five years/70,000 km (was 45,000 km).
  • First visit: 12 months/10,000 km (was 6 months/5,000 km).
  • Revised booklets will be issued; early reminder notices can be ignored.

Unchanged benefits

  • Warranty: seven‑year, unlimited‑kilometre.
  • Roadside assistance: five years (the related Tank 300 diesel still gets seven).

Why the overhaul?

John Kett, chief operating officer for GWM Australia & New Zealand, says the longer intervals come after “extensive collaboration with our factory and R&D teams,” adding that the new plan “improves owner convenience while also lowering overall maintenance costs.”

What about the 2.0‑litre diesel Cannon?

GWM has not yet confirmed whether the shorter‑stroke 2.0‑litre turbo‑diesel variants will adopt the same 15,000 km cadence; existing owners should continue to follow the schedule printed in their service book until further notice.
