Hyundai Motor Company Australia (HMCA) confirmed today (September 1, 2025) that its entire passenger car range – including petrol, diesel, hybrid, and electric SUVs and hatchbacks – now qualifies for the longer warranty when serviced exclusively through the Hyundai dealer network.

The move builds on Hyundai’s history of warranty leadership in Australia:
- 1999: First to introduce a 5-year / 130,000 km warranty
- 2007: First with a 5-year unlimited kilometre warranty
- 2025: Now expanding to a 7-year unlimited kilometre warranty
“As the first automotive brand in Australia to offer a 5-year unlimited kilometre warranty, we recognise the strategic importance of competitive warranty coverage,” said Don Romano, CEO of Hyundai Motor Company Australia.
How the 7-year warranty works

- Standard coverage: All new Hyundai passenger vehicles come with a 5-year, unlimited kilometre warranty.
- Extended coverage: To qualify for the full 7 years, all scheduled services must be completed at an authorised Hyundai dealer from the first service onwards.
- Eligibility: Applies to new Hyundai passenger cars registered from 1 June 2025 (excluding STARIA Load vans and vehicles used in “commercial applications” such as taxis, ride-share, rentals or delivery vehicles).
- Coverage scope: Includes corrosion, paint durability and multimedia systems – areas not always covered by rivals.
- EVs: High-voltage batteries retain their separate 8-year / 160,000 km warranty.
Where customers meet the dealer-servicing conditions, Hyundai will also extend its Bluelink connected car subscription to 7 years and continue to provide 24/7 Australia-wide Premium Roadside Support for the vehicle’s lifetime, provided servicing is performed within the Hyundai network.
Commercial-use warranty conditions

- Passenger cars used commercially: 5 years / 130,000 km
- People Mover Vans (commercial use): 5 years / 160,000 km
- Commercial vans (e.g. STARIA Load): 5 years / 160,000 km, regardless of use
