Hyundai Australia has issued a recall for 18,634 units of the i30, built between 2020-2021. It is looking at all the variants due to a manufacturing defect with the fuel pump impeller.

What’s the defect, and why is it so serious?
According to the recall report, a manufacturing defect may cause the fuel pump impeller to deform during specific environmental conditions, interrupting fuel supply. This can lead to the engine stalling and sudden loss of motive power, giving rise to major safety concerns for all the passengers.
