The Hyundai Crater Concept will make its world premiere at the AutoMobility LA 2025 motor show in Los Angeles, California, on Thursday, 20 November at 9:45 a.m. Pacific Time (Friday, 21 November at 4:45 a.m. AEDT).
The concept showcases an extreme off-road vehicle, with capability and toughness packed into a compact design.
Rugged design inspired by extreme environments

The Hyundai Crater Concept was developed at the Hyundai America Technical Centre (HATCI) in Irvine, California. Designed as a compact off-road SUV, it embodies capability, toughness, and adventure-ready styling, reflecting the rugged spirit of Hyundai’s XRT production vehicles.
The Hyundai Crater Concept is born of the same adventure-centric DNA as the Hyundai IONIQ 5 XRT, Hyundai Santa Cruz XRT, and the Hyundai Palisade XRT Pro, while incorporating Hyundai’s new pixel-inspired lighting and modern design language to give it a futuristic yet rugged look.
A glimpse of Hyundai’s future off-road strategy

The Crater Concept arrives amid Hyundai’s push into the off-road and adventure SUV segment. Hyundai has confirmed plans for a dual-cab ute in North America by 2030, with a potential body-on-frame SUV variant to follow.
While the Crater remains a concept, its rugged design hints at the direction Hyundai may take with future production SUVs aimed at adventure, off-road capability, and outdoor lifestyles.
