Jaecoo has decided to extend its promotional launch price of $36,990 (drive-away) for the new J5 EV after strong demand. The special launch offer will now be available to an additional 1,000 customers for one of the most affordable electric SUVs on the Australian market.
On this, Roy Munoz, Chief Commercial Officer, Omoda Jaecoo, said, “We have been overwhelmed by the positive feedback from dealers and the general public.”
Launch offer extension on the new J5 EV
Launched this month with a single, high-spec variant, the Jaecoo J5 EV is now available at the same launch-time promotional price of $36,990 (drive-away) for 1,000 more customers. The offer includes free premium paint, applicable to colours like Arctic White, Carbon Black, and Stormy Blue.
This announcement was made during what the brand described as Australia’s biggest livestream, hosted by Roy Munoz. The J5 EV is available now for test drives at all Omoda Jaecoo dealerships in Australia. More details are available on the Omoda Jaecoo website.
Strong demand for the Jaecoo J5 EV
“The order books have been quickly filled since they opened in late December, so we were more than happy to extend the offer to allow more people to get behind the wheel of our latest new energy vehicle,” said Roy Munoz.
The J5 EV is the entry-level model in the Jaecoo range and is one of the most affordable e-SUVs in Australia. It sits below the J7 (mid-size SUV) and J8 (large SUV).
It has a driving range of 402km and offers fast charging, which allows it to go from 30% to 80% in 28 minutes. Inside the cabin, the J5 EV uses “pet-friendly” synthetic leather made from a silicone-based material, which is antibacterial and wear-resistant.
New ‘Black’ interior option
The premium-styled Jaecoo J5 EV now offers a black interior option, available to the first 2,000 customers.

Upcoming Jaecoo J5 variants in 2026 in Australia
The company has confirmed that the J5 range will expand with petrol and hybrid versions later in the year. The new 2026 Jaecoo J5 EV is Omoda Jaecoo’s fourth model launch, following the Jaecoo J7, J8, and the Omoda 9.
