Kia Australia has announced Australian pricing for the MY26 EV9 range, confirming the addition of the new EV9 GT flagship. The expanded line-up now spans four variants priced from $97,000 to $129,250 before on-road costs, with the updated range available in local dealerships now.

While pricing across the existing Air, Earth and GT-Line variants remains unchanged, the MY26 update introduces the EV9 GT as a new performance-led halo model at the top of the range.

Kia has elected to hold pricing steady for the Air, Earth and GT-Line variants compared with the previous model year. The EV9 GT is the only new addition for MY26, introduced as a standalone flagship rather than driving price increases across the broader range.

Kia EV9 GT performance headlines

The newly introduced Kia EV9 GT becomes the most powerful EV9 offered in Australia. It uses a dual electric motor all-wheel-drive system producing 374kW and 740Nm, with Kia claiming a 0–100km/h time of 4.5 seconds.

That figure makes the Kia EV9 GT the fastest seven-seat vehicle currently on sale in Australia, edging ahead of the Volvo EX90 Ultra Twin Motor Performance. The Tesla Model X, previously the fastest seven-seater, is no longer available locally.

Despite the performance uplift, WLTP driving range is rated at up to 510km.

Australian-specific suspension tuning

Standard on the EV9 GT is Electronic Controlled Suspension, which Kia says has been locally tuned to suit Australian road conditions. The brand points to improved ride compliance and stability across coarse-chip surfaces and long-distance highways—an important consideration for a large, seven-seat electric SUV.

Design and interior upgrades

The Kia EV9 GT receives a number of exterior and interior changes to visually separate it from the rest of the range.

Exterior highlights include:

  • Gloss black 21-inch alloy wheels
  • Digital LED grille with Kia Star Map lighting, exclusive to the GT

Inside, the GT features a bespoke interior configuration, with second-row relaxation seats fitted as standard. Kia has indicated that a full specification breakdown will be released shortly.

Charging and platform fundamentals unchanged

Across the MY26 EV9 range, charging capability remains unchanged. All variants continue to use Kia’s 800-volt electrical architecture, supporting DC fast-charging of up to 240kW and AC charging at 10.5kW. This remains a key advantage for long-distance touring and family use.

What comes next?

Kia has yet to publish final towing, payload and full equipment details for the EV9 GT. These specifications will be critical in determining how well the performance-focused flagship balances speed with everyday family practicality.
