Leapmotor Australia has announced pricing and specifications for the new B10 Hybrid EV, which joins the recently launched battery-electric B10 SUV. Priced from $37,888 before on-road costs, the Leapmotor B10 Hybrid EV uses a range-extender hybrid system that allows the electric motor to drive the wheels at all times, while a 1.5-litre petrol engine acts solely as a generator to recharge the battery.
The new model will be available in two grades:
- Leapmotor B10 Hybrid EV Style – $37,888 MSRP
- Leapmotor B10 Hybrid EV Design – $40,888 MSRP
According to Leapmotor, the B10 Hybrid EV offers up to 84km of electric-only driving range (WLTP) from its 18.8kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, while a full battery and fuel tank deliver a claimed combined driving range of up to 900km (WLTP).

EV-first hybrid system

Unlike conventional hybrids where the petrol engine can directly drive the wheels, the B10 Hybrid EV uses a range-extender setup. The electric motor remains responsible for propulsion, while the petrol engine generates electricity when the battery charge drops.
Leapmotor claims the system produces 160kW and 240Nm, enabling a 0-100km/h sprint in 7.5 seconds and a top speed of 170km/h. The company also quotes fuel consumption of just 0.9L/100km (WLTP), although real-world figures will depend heavily on charging habits and battery usage.
Charging options include:
- 6.6kW AC charging
- Up to 46kW DC fast charging
- 30-80 per cent DC charge in approximately 20 minutes
