Stellantis-backed Chinese carmaker Leapmotor has introduced a new over-the-air (OTA) software update for its C10 mid-size SUV, available in both electric and range-extender hybrid versions. The update aims to enhance the driving experience of the Leapmotor C10 through key refinements to safety systems and in-car technology.

The free update, which must be downloaded via Wi-Fi, addresses previous criticisms of the C10’s advanced driver-assistance system(ADAS).

New 360-degree dashcam & connectivity options

One of the most notable additions for the Leapmotor C10 is a 360-degree dashcam recorder, which uses the SUV’s surround-view cameras to record while the vehicle is running. The footage is saved directly to a USB stick for easy access.

Other new features for the C10 include QDLink smartphone screen projection for Android devices and the addition of Radioline, a global radio streaming service offering international content. As an OTA update, customers can enjoy these new features by simply downloading and installing it directly from the central touchscreen interface.

Digital key sharing

The Leapmotor smartphone app has gained new functionality as well, including digital key sharing with family or friends who also have a Leapmotor account.

Improved active safety systems

Following this software update, Leapmotor says most ADAS switches can now be used in any gear, offering greater convenience for drivers. Overall safety gets improved now that the adaptive cruise control and lane guidance sensors have been recalibrated to deliver smoother, more natural operation.

The lane-keeping assist system of the Leapmotor C10 has been fine-tuned for better sensitivity and performance, while fault icons for driver attention monitoring have been repositioned to the instrument cluster for clearer visibility.

A new memory setting lets users save preferred configurations for selected ADAS and driving modes, which can be quickly activated using a customisable steering wheel button.

Infotainment and user interface enhancements

The latest software also refines the infotainment and navigation systems of the Leapmotor C10. There’s now the option to avoid-tolls, offers improved 3D route visibility, and clearer address information when locations are sent from mobile devices.

Leapmotor has expanded voice recognition capabilities, allowing users to search by song or artist name, and redesigned the dock bar to include passenger climate zone and mirror heating controls.

However, despite these updates, the C10 still lacks Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility — something many buyers continue to request.

Available now

The latest Leapmotor C10 OTA update has been available since September 19, continuing the company’s push to enhance its vehicles through continuous software development and user-focused improvements.
