Leapmotor Australia has confirmed the rollout of a new free Over-the-Air (OTA) software update for the Leapmotor B10, a compact SUV. The B10 is the Chinese car maker’s second major model in Australia, aimed at the entry-level EV market. This model has two variants, Style and Design Long Range, available locally.

Customers have received a notification about the update’s availability and installation. This update adds new features and improves existing systems.

Car owners must have received a notification in their vehicle that the update is available. To install the update:

  • Connect the vehicle to Wi-Fi
  • Download the software update
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to install it

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto added

The Leapmotor B10 compact SUV now supports wired Apple CarPlay, wireless Apple CarPlay, wired Android Auto, and wireless Android Auto. This allows drivers to easily access navigation, apps, music and calls through their smartphone.

Improved driver assistance and personalised driving settings

The update improves the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) in the B10. The changes include optimised Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and improved Lane Centering Control (LCC).

These systems now provide smoother slowing when driving through curves, improving comfort and driver confidence on winding roads.

Drivers can now also create custom shortcuts and save personal settings. These include ADAS preferences, acceleration response, and regenerative braking levels. This allows the vehicle to better match individual driving styles.

One pedal driving enhancement

The update also improves One Pedal Driving. With this system, releasing the pedal slows the car through regenerative braking. This allows smoother driving and improves energy recovery.

Infotainment and user interface upgrades

Several improvements have been made to the vehicle’s screen and controls. The infotainment system now boots faster, reducing waiting time when turning on the vehicle. New custom memory shortcuts now allow drivers to save and recall preferred settings for ADAS, acceleration response, and regenerative braking.

The system supports a left-side navigation split-screen display, making it easier to view maps while using other functions. Hands-free voice control is also expanded and now works with windows, air vents, exterior lighting, media controls, and interface functions.

Additional updates

Charging ports in the Leapmotor B10 electric suv

Some other important updates to this entry-level electric SUV also include the Life Detection Reminder, which detects occupants inside the vehicle.

It also supports the Charging Connector Logic now. After charging is complete, the connector will remain locked or unlocked depending on whether the vehicle itself is locked or unlocked. This adds extra convenience and security.
