Lexus Australia has issued a recall for 303 units of the UX300e, built between 2021 and 2023. The electric SUV was removed from the brand’s Australian lineup earlier this year. The recall includes all variants due to a manufacturing defect within the Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC) system.

What’s the defect, and why is it so serious?
A manufacturing issue may induce the heating element within the Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC) system of the vehicle to deteriorate over time, leading the windscreen defrost function to not function properly. This can result in poor visibility for the driver, putting the occupants of the car in danger.
