A recall has been issued for the Mazda CX-70, Mazda CX-80 and Mazda CX-90 SUVs built between 2023 and 2025. The recall includes 5,081 units, all of them SKYACTIV- G 3.3L Petrol variants, due to a software programming defect with the Body Control Module (BCM).

What’s the defect, and why is it so serious?
A software programming issue may induce the Body Control Module (BCM) of the vehicle to affect the fuel display, resulting in an incorrect display of fuel levels. This may leave the driver oblivious to the true amount of fuel still in the tank, and increase risk of loss of power and accidents.

Mazda has released a complete list of affected Vehicle Identification Number (VINs). If you own either a CX-70, CX-80 or CX-90, it’s recommended you verify whether your vehicle is part of this recall by reviewing the VIN list provided.

What should owners do now?
Repair activity is currently underway, once finalised Mazda will contact affected customers to present their vehicle to their preferred Mazda Dealer and have the BCM software updated, free of charge.
This isn’t just a precaution, but an important safety repair that should be fixed as soon as possible.
