Mercedes-AMG is giving its full-size ultra-luxury SUV, the G63, a very limited makeover for Australia. The G63 Two-Finish Edition keeps the same V8 performance as the regular model but adds hand-finished two-tone paint, a more heavily blacked-out exterior and a bespoke cabin, and Australia will have only 5 examples of it, each priced at $425,327 before on-road costs.
The special edition’s price is $53,000 more than the regular G63, and a ‘1 of 5’ passenger grab handle marking will remind this to the five local buyers. The very limited edition of the G63 keeps the same V8 engine and off-road hardware and is available to order now across the country.
Two blacks, not two colours
The Two-Finish Edition gets its name from its unusual paint combination. Instead of contrasting a dark colour with a lighter shade like Mercedes-Maybach models, Mercedes-AMG uses two different black finishes.

Mercedes-Benz achieves the sharp dividing line between the finishes through extensive hand-finishing in Graz, Austria, and only one vehicle passes through the paint shop each day. Even masking the dividing edge between the two finishes takes several hours.
More black outside
The G63 Two-Finish Edition rides on 22-inch forged wheels inspired by classic AMG monoblock wheels and, naturally, they’re finished in black.
The exterior also gets the AMG Night Package II, which adds further dark detailing, including a dark chrome grille.

A two-tone cabin, too
Mercedes-AMG carries the two-tone theme into the interior. The seats and cabin use Manufaktur Titanium Grey Pearl and Black upholstery.
The Superior Line Interior adds a two-tone Nappa leather-finished instrument panel and carbon-fibre trim, and the AMG Performance steering wheel combines carbon fibre and Microcut microfibre.
Mercedes makes sure owners know exactly how limited their SUV is – the passenger grab handle carries a bespoke ‘1 of 5’ marking in silver.
Same V8, same serious performance
Underneath the exclusive trim, the Two-Finish Edition keeps the standard G63 powertrain: its bi-turbo 4.0-litre petrol V8 produces 430kW and 850Nm.

Mercedes-AMG claims a 0–100km/h time of 4.4 seconds. Adaptive dampers come standard, while the four-wheel-drive system includes three differential locks.
