Mercedes-AMG has pulled back the curtain on its most radical concept yet—the CONCEPT AMG GT XX. This latest creation culminates the carmaker’s various research programs into high-performance technologies including electric propulsion, extreme aerodynamics, and sustainable materials. With over 1,000 kW (1,360+ hp) of power, the AMG GT XX concept car is a bold glimpse into the future of electrified performance.

These figures are based on digital simulations and prototypes. Final homologated specifications will be revealed closer to production, if and when the concept transitions to a production model.

The Mercedes CONCEPT AMG GT XX employs three axial flux electric motors—two on the rear axle and one on the front—leveraging Mercedes-Benz’s acquisition of UK-based YASA. Compared to conventional radial flux motors, axial flux motors provide:

When closed, they reduce drag to improve EV range; when opened, they facilitate brake cooling and improve downforce.
Each wheel’s micro-generator captures kinetic energy from rotation to power the actuator system, which controls the blades via Bluetooth. This design eliminates external wiring and allows for 200 independent blade movements per charge.

The concept wears a two-tone matte and gloss black exterior, punctuated by subtle orange accents that echo the biotech silk door handles and seat stitching inside. LABFIBER biotech materials

Two groundbreaking, lab-developed materials make their world debut in the cabin of the AMG GT XX concept:
- LABFIBER Biotech Leather Alternative: Crafted from recycled racing tyres, plant proteins, and biopolymers, this next-gen material replicates the durability and feel of leather while being lighter, fully recyclable, and petroleum-free. It’s used on the seat pads and central console.
- LABFIBER Biotech Silk Alternative: Grown from engineered bacteria, this orange-highlighted material lines high-contact areas such as the door handles and trim. Strong, breathable, and biodegradable, it brings both luxury and circularity to the fore.
3D-printed racing seats with ergonomic precision

Inspired by endurance racing, the fixed carbon-fibre bucket seats are fitted with removable, 3D-printed seat pads, custom-tailored using full-body driver scans. The result: a sculpted fit, enhanced breathability, and modular inserts that can be replaced individually, offering comfort without compromise.
