MG Motor has officially announced pricing and opened reservations for its highly anticipated IM electric vehicle range in Australia. The premium lineup includes the IM5 sedan and IM6 SUV, both featuring cutting-edge AI technology, high-performance specs, and luxurious interiors. IM (short for “Intelligence in Motion”) is MG’s new premium EV sub-brand, developed in collaboration with SAIC Motor and Alibaba Group.
There are three variants available for each model, and customers can now place their orders exclusively via MG Motor’s official website.

These prices put these models squarely in Tesla territory. MG will also be offering each model with its all-inclusive seven-year warranty coverage.
Key highlights of the IM range
As a pair of premium EVs, these IM models from MG pack a lot more tech and enhanced dynamic capabilities. Both the sedan and SUV come with rear-wheel steering with up to 12 degrees of articulation, which offers improved cornering at high speeds, and easier maneuverability at low speeds for urban environments.
The complete performance details for the Australia-spec IM5 and IM6 models are yet to be revealed, but both pack MG’s 800V Hurricane motor. In flagship trim, the IM5 sedan with its dual-motor AWD setup claims a 0-100km/h sprint time of just 3.2 seconds.
