At Auto China 2026 in Beijing, MINI has presented a wide-ranging display centred on customisation, creativity and personal expression. The brand’s stand features 14 vehicles, including global and regional debuts, alongside special editions and design-led collaborations.

One-off MINI x Vagabund takes centre stage

A key highlight is the world premiere of the MINI Countryman MINI x VAGABUND, developed in collaboration with Austrian design studio Vagabund Moto.

The project includes two one-off vehicles based on the MINI Countryman, reinterpreted with a focus on adventure and community culture. Visual changes include widened wheel arches for a more assertive stance, while the rear side windows have been replaced with a bespoke high-performance sound system, turning the vehicles into mobile audio platforms.

Electric MINI × DEUS “The Skeg” debuts in China

MINI has also used the show to introduce the electric MINI JCW × DEUS “The Skeg” to the Chinese market. Developed with Deus Ex Machina, the one-off model features a lightweight, semi-transparent fibreglass body and surf-inspired design elements, reflecting a lifestyle-oriented approach to vehicle design.

Special editions highlight design partnerships

The broader display includes a range of personalised vehicles and market-specific editions for China. Among them is the MINI Paul Smith Edition, marking the brand’s ongoing collaboration with British designer Paul Smith.

This model combines MINI’s design language with distinctive styling cues, including unique exterior finishes and tailored interior details.

Full line-up and performance focus on display

MINI’s current production range is also showcased, spanning compact urban models to more adventure-oriented SUVs. The presentation includes vehicles from the John Cooper Works performance division, highlighting the brand’s sporting credentials alongside its customisation focus.

Customisation positioned as core brand identity

Across its Auto China 2026 display, MINI positions customisation as a central pillar of its identity. Through a mix of one-offs, collaborations and production models, the brand presents its vehicles as platforms for personalisation, creative expression and community engagement.
