Mitsubishi Motors Australia has announced a significant expansion of its long-term ownership with the 10/10/10 Diamond Advantage Program. This applies to all new vehicles sold from today, including 24MY, 25MY, and future models. This is claimed as the “market-first” strategic move by Mitsubishi to attract Australian buyers by reducing long-term ownership uncertainty.
Mitsubishi Australia’s Diamond Advantage Program

In an Australian-market first, Mitsubishi Motors Australia Limited (MMAL) has expanded its ownership package to the new Diamond Advantage 10/10/10 Program:
- 10-year Warranty
- 10-year Capped Price Servicing (first 10 scheduled services)
- 10 years of Roadside Assistance (new addition)
The update applies to all new Mitsubishi vehicles sold from today onwards, covering 24MY, 25MY and future models.
How does Mitsubishi Australia stack up against its rivals?
Among key rivals, Toyota, Mazda and Subaru offer 5-year warranties, with roadside assistance usually available only as a paid add-on. Hyundai and Kia provide 5- and 7-year coverage, respectively.
Nissan and MG are the only other carmakers in Australia to offer 10-year warranties. Nissan offers 10 years/300,000km, and MG offers 10 years/250,000km on select models, although MG does not include 10 years of roadside support.
The move reflects an industry shift primarily driven by Chinese competition. Rather than engaging in price cuts, Japanese brands are strengthening after-sales programs to improve total ownership value.

Conditions buyers should know

The program is built around long-term cost certainty and structured ownership, but it comes with clear conditions that buyers need to understand:
- Servicing must be completed at an authorised Mitsubishi Motors Dealership. Missing this requirement reduces the warranty to 5 years/100,000km.
- Applies to the first 10 scheduled services (12 months or 15,000km intervals).
- Roadside Assistance starts with 12 months free and extends 12 months at a time with each eligible capped-price service.
- Valid for up to 10 years from the sale date.
- Non-scheduled items (repairs, consumables, wear-and-tear) cost extra.
- Mitsubishi Australia may amend the program without notice, as per its terms.
- Exclusions apply for government, rental and certain fleet/business vehicles.
Official response from Mitsubishi Motors Australia
Aftersales Deputy Director Tom Pitman said the updated scheme builds on Mitsubishi’s 45-year legacy in Australia.
“The evolution of our Diamond Advantage program from ‘10/10’ to ‘10/10/10’ reflects Mitsubishi’s unwavering dedication to delivering a best-in-class vehicle ownership experience. Our customers have long identified the earlier 10/10 program as a unique selling point… The new 10/10/10 program takes this to new heights.”
Mitsubishi Diamond Advantage Roadside Assistance will continue to operate alongside Assist Australia to provide 24/7 service across Australia.
Is the Diamond Advantage Program transferable?
Yes, but with conditions. Mitsubishi car owners can access ongoing Roadside Assistance as long as:
- They continue to complete their scheduled servicing under the Diamond Advantage Capped Price Service Program.
- Coverage extends 12 months at a time, up to a maximum of 10 years from the original sale date.
The Diamond Advantage program benefits even transfer to the next owner. They are tied to the vehicle’s VIN, meaning if you sell your Mitsubishi, the new owner inherits the remaining warranty, roadside assistance and capped price servicing.
Industry watchers see the 10/10/10 program as Mitsubishi’s first major strategic decision under the New MMAL CEO Shunichi Kihara, a 34-year Mitsubishi veteran. Whether the Diamond Advantage Program will sway buyers back from the rivals remains to be seen.
