Mitsubishi Motors Australia has officially unveiled the Triton Raider, a new range-topping ute for the 2026 model year. Developed in collaboration with Premcar, the Raider is designed specifically for Australian driving conditions, combining enhanced off-road capability with improved on-road comfort and control.

Set to arrive in dealerships from May 2026, the Triton Raider builds on the Triton GSR Dual Cab platform, positioning itself as the flagship variant in the MY26 Mitsubishi Triton lineup.

Australian-led engineering and development

The Mitsubishi Triton Raider is the result of extensive local testing and engineering, led by Premcar’s development team. The project focused on delivering a ute capable of handling Australia’s diverse terrain, from highways to rugged off-road environments.

According to Mitsubishi, the Raider was developed with a clear objective, to provide confidence across all driving conditions.

Suspension and dynamics built for control

A major highlight of the Mitsubishi Triton Raider is its integrated suspension upgrade, engineered specifically for Australian conditions.

Key mechanical upgrades include

  • Unique front and rear dampers
  • Front damper with internal rebound spring for better control
  • Revised front springs and jounce bumpers
  • Improved wheel control across varied surfaces

The result is enhanced ride comfort, stability, and responsiveness both on and off the road.

Ride height and track improvements

  • +25mm front ride height, including 10mm from springs and 15mm from tyre and wheel upgrade
  • +15mm rear ride height
  • +20mm wider track combined

The Raider also retains the Yamaha Performance Damper system, which improves noise, vibration, and harshness by stabilising chassis movement.

Wheels and tyres bring functional and visual upgrades

The Triton Raider features a purpose-selected wheel and tyre package

  • Bridgestone AT002 all-terrain tyres
  • 18-inch ROH Assault alloy wheels
  • Brushed Bronze finish with Raider-specific hub caps

This setup enhances grip across mixed terrain while also contributing to the vehicle’s increased ride height and more aggressive stance.

Exterior design blends form and function

The Mitsubishi Triton Raider stands out visually with a range of bespoke and accessory-driven enhancements

  • Sandstorm side decals
  • Raider badging on tailgate and body
  • Heavy-duty bash plate with red detailing
  • Dark Warm Grey front garnish
  • Sports bar and side protection bars with red accents
  • Black grille with contrasting chrome Mitsubishi emblem

Available colours

  • White Diamond
  • Black Mica
  • Blade Silver
  • Graphite Grey

Interior upgrades add subtle distinction

Inside, the Mitsubishi Triton Raider carries over the high-spec features of the GSR while adding exclusive touches

  • Black leather seats with orange stitching
  • Raider-branded front headrests
  • Additional Raider badging on centre console

The cabin maintains a premium and rugged aesthetic aligned with the vehicle’s exterior character.

Warranty and aftersales support

The Mitsubishi Triton Raider is covered under Mitsubishi’s 10/10/10 Diamond Advantage program, which includes

  • 10-year or 200,000 km warranty, conditional
  • 10-year capped price servicing
  • 10-year roadside assistance

This strengthens the Raider’s value proposition in the Australian ute segment for long-term ownership.

Availability

The MY26 Mitsubishi Triton Raider will be available in Australia from May 2026, offered through Mitsubishi dealerships nationwide.

Verdict

The Triton Raider is a clear attempt by Mitsubishi Motors Australia to strengthen its position in the competitive ute segment by leveraging local engineering expertise from Premcar.

Rather than a cosmetic upgrade, the Mitsubishi TritonRaider introduces meaningful mechanical changes, particularly in suspension and dynamics, making it a more capable and purpose-built option for buyers who demand both off-road performance and daily usability.
