Chinese automotive brand Omoda Jaecoo has announced a new partnership with Smartgroup Corporation, one of Australia’s largest salary packaging and novated leasing providers, to introduce a dedicated novated leasing program for its vehicles.

The initiative, branded “Omoda Jaecoo Novated Lease powered by Smart,” aims to make it easier for Australian buyers to access the brand’s vehicles through salary-packaged car finance.

Under the new arrangement, dealerships will be able to quote customers directly for novated lease packages, simplifying the process of securing a salary-packaged vehicle.

Nationwide access through dealer network

The program will be rolled out across all 50 Omoda Jaecoo dealerships in Australia in the coming weeks.

By integrating Smart’s technology platform, the brand says customers will be able to access fully maintained novated leases, which bundle vehicle costs such as servicing, registration, insurance, and running expenses into a single payment deducted from their salary.

Smartgroup Corporation is an ASX-listed company specialising in salary packaging, novated leasing, and fleet management services.

According to the company, it worked with more than 500,000 Australians in 2025, helping employees maximise their take-home pay through salary packaging and vehicle leasing solutions.

Tax benefits for EV buyers

All Omoda and Jaecoo models will be eligible for novated leasing under the program.

However, the upcoming electric SUV Jaecoo J5 EV will also qualify for additional tax advantages under Australia’s Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) exemption for eligible electric vehicles.

This means drivers who salary-package the Jaecoo J5 EV may be able to avoid FBT and reduce overall running costs, making the model particularly attractive for novated lease customers.

Expanding ownership options

For Omoda Jaecoo, the partnership reflects a broader strategy to expand financing and ownership pathways as the brand grows its footprint in Australia.

With novated leasing becoming an increasingly popular way for Australians to acquire vehicles through their employers, the company expects the program to improve accessibility and affordability across its lineup.

The “Omoda Jaecoo Novated Lease powered by Smart” offer is expected to become available nationwide through the brand’s dealer network in the coming weeks.
