Polestar has confirmed Australian pricing and specifications for the Polestar 2 Model Year 2027 (MY27), with customer deliveries expected to begin mid 2026. The update focuses on simplifying the range, increasing standard equipment, and maintaining existing price points despite added value.

Line-up revised, standard range variant axed

In response to growing demand for longer-range electric vehicles, Polestar has removed the Standard range Single motor variant from the Australian line-up.

The MY27 range now consists exclusively of long-range configurations:

  • Long range Single motor
  • Long range Dual motor
  • Long range Dual motor with Performance pack

This shift aligns with broader EV buyer trends in Australia, where range and usability remain top priorities.

Pricing unchanged despite added features

Polestar has kept pricing steady across the MY27 range, even as it adds more standard equipment to higher-spec variants.

Polestar 2 MY27 pricing in Australia

ModelPrice (AUD)
Polestar 2 Long Range Single Motor$66,400
Polestar 2 Long Range Dual Motor$71,400
Polestar 2 Long Range Dual Motor with Performance Pack (including Plus Pack)$85,080

Notably, the Dual motor with Performance pack now includes:

  • Pixel LED headlights
  • Bowers & Wilkins premium sound system

These additions represent approximately $5,100 in added value at no extra cost.

Hardware upgrades carry over

The MY27 model continues with hardware upgrades introduced in MY26, including:

  • Qualcomm Snapdragon-powered infotainment system
  • 14-speaker Bowers & Wilkins audio system (1350W output)

The premium audio system is:

  • Optional on Single motor and Dual motor variants
  • Standard on Performance pack models

Key audio features include:

  • Tweeter-on-Top technology for improved clarity
  • Continuum midrange speakers to reduce distortion

Polestar continues to offer a structured pack-based configuration system:

  • Performance pack ($8,980) (requires Plus pack): Performance software, 20-inch wheels, Brembo brakes, Öhlins dampers
  • Pro pack ($1,900): Graphite alloy wheels, gold detailing
  • Climate pack ($1,500): Heated rear seats, steering wheel, heat pump

Takeaway

The MY27 update is less about reinvention and more about range rationalisation and value consolidation. By removing the base variant and enhancing standard features—while holding prices steady—Polestar positions the Polestar 2 more competitively in Australia’s evolving EV market.
