Porsche Cars Australia has issued a safety recall for the Porsche Panamera (YAA), covering model years 2023 to 2025. The recall affects 142 vehicles across all variants of the model.
What’s the defect, and why is it so serious?
According to the official recall notice, a manufacturing issue has resulted in the wiring harness between the door pressure sensor and the airbag control unit being assembled with an incorrect connector pin allocation.
This fault may cause the side airbag to deploy with a delay during a crash. A delayed trigger could significantly increase the risk of injury or death to occupants in the event of an accident.
