Renault has revealed the Filante, a bold new premium crossover that will serve as the brand’s international flagship and a cornerstone of its 2027 International Game Plan. Positioned in the E-segment, the Renault Filante marks the company’s renewed push into the global premium market, with an initial launch planned for South Korea in March 2026, followed by South America and the Gulf States through early 2027.
Designed as a statement model, the Renault Filante combines avant-garde styling, advanced in-car technology, and the brand’s latest 250 PS full-hybrid E-Tech powertrain to deliver both performance and efficiency.
Big, bold and built in South Korea
The Renault Filante is based on Geely’s Compact Modular Architecture (CMA), which also underpins models from Volvo, Polestar and Lynk & Co. It will be built at Renault’s Busan plant in South Korea, formerly operated as Renault Samsung.
Measuring 4915mm long, 1890mm wide, and 1635mm tall, the Filante is the largest vehicle Renault currently sells worldwide. It’s longer than both the European Espace and the Grand Koleos sold in South Korea, although it’s offered exclusively as a five-seater. Boot space is generous, with 633 litres available with the rear seats in place, expanding to 2050 litres when they’re folded flat.
Sales will begin in South Korea in March 2026, before rolling out to parts of Latin America and the Gulf States from early 2027.
Sharp styling and coupe-inspired proportions
Stylistically, the Renault Filante adopts a more assertive look than the Koleos it’s related to. It features slim headlights flanking an illuminated grille and Renault badge, large 19- or 20-inch wheels, and a coupe-like roofline that tapers into a chopped rear end with a prominent spoiler.
Certain trims, including Esprit Alpine variants, add blacked-out exterior elements and distinctive tail-light graphics, giving the Filante a sportier, more premium presence.
Screens, screens and more screens inside
As Renault’s new technology flagship, the Filante’s interior is dominated by displays. Three 12.3-inch screens span the dashboard, including one dedicated to the front passenger, while a massive 25.6-inch augmented-reality head-up display handles key driving information.
Other highlights include:
- Digital rear-view mirror
- Fixed panoramic glass roof (1.1m²)
- Bose Premium 10-speaker sound system
- Customisable ambient lighting
- Over-the-air software updates
- Smartphone digital key and remote controls
Renault says the cabin prioritises comfort and sound insulation, with lounge-style seating and an audio setup tuned for long-distance cruising.

Will it come to Australia?

While Renault Australia currently sells South Korea-built models such as the Koleos and Arkana, the brand has not yet confirmed whether the Filante or other future Geely-based Renault models will be offered locally.
For now, the Renault Filante stands as a clear statement of intent: a large, premium, tech-led SUV designed to push the brand further upmarket globally.
