The latest results from ANCAP (Australasian New Car Assessment Program) are out and included is a shiny five-star safety rating for the 2025 Skoda Superb. It excelled in the Adult Occupant protection with a 93% score and performed well across tests.
The tests themselves were performed on the closely-related Volkswagen Passat sold in Europe, hence the same results apply on the Superb as well. Furthermore, the safety rating applies to both sedan and wagon forms of the Skoda Superb.

Breaking down the scores
The Skoda Superb scored phenomenally across the charts:
- Adult Occupant Protection: 93%
- Child Occupant Protection: 86%
- Vulnerable Road User Protection: 82%
- Safety Assist: 85%
Adult Occupant Protection 93% (37.29 out of 40)
The Skoda Superb scored strongly in crash tests, with GOOD protection in most areas, maximum points in side impacts, and effective centre airbag performance. Minor penalties applied for frontal compatibility risks and ADEQUATE chest protection in the case of a full width frontal test.
Child Occupant Protection 86% (42.41 out of 49)
The Skoda Superb provided GOOD protection for child dummies in crash tests, scoring maximum points. It features ISOFix and top tether anchorages for rear seats only, accommodating most child restraints. However, one convertible seat and one booster seat had installation issues, costing the Superb major points. A child presence detection (CPD) system is not available.
Vulnerable Road User Protection 82% (51.82 out of 63)
The Skoda Superb offered ADEQUATE pedestrian head protection, though weak near pillars. Pelvis protection was GOOD, lower legs mixed. Its AEB system performed well for pedestrians, cyclists, and motorcyclists, including turning scenarios, though reverse AEB was marginal. Cyclist anti-dooring warnings are included, but some ELK overtaking collision avoidance tests were unsuccessful.

Safety Assist 85% (15.42 out of 18)
The 2025 Superb features AEB with GOOD car-to-car, junction, and crossing performance, ADEQUATE head-on results, plus lane support system with lane keep assist and emergency lane keeping showing strong outcomes. Standard tech includes blind spot monitoring, adaptive cruise with speed recognition, full seatbelt reminders, and driver drowsiness monitoring, enhancing safety at highway speeds. However, the driver monitoring system does not account for distractions or unresponsiveness which cost the Skoda car some points.
