The Subaru Trailseeker has been confirmed for Australia, bringing the title of the fastest-ever production Subaru when it arrives in Q2 2026.
Billed as “all-electric, all-exciting”, the Subaru Trailseeker introduces a fresh nameplate to the local line-up and signals the next phase of the brand’s electric push, sitting above the refreshed 2026 Solterra as a larger, more adventure-focused option.

Fastest production Subaru ever built

The headline figure is performance. Producing 280kW from a dual-motor setup, the Subaru Trailseeker is claimed to sprint from 0–100km/h in around 4.4 seconds, making it the quickest-accelerating production Subaru to date.
Despite the strong on-road pace, Subaru says Trailseeker retains the brand’s trademark all-road ability. It features Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive as standard, a low centre of gravity, and 211mm of ground clearance, positioning it as a genuine electric SUV built for Australian conditions.

New e-Subaru Global Platform under the skin
Subaru Trailseeker is underpinned by Subaru’s next-generation e-Subaru Global Platform, designed specifically for higher outputs, improved efficiency and enhanced all-wheel drive performance.
According to Subaru, the new architecture enables more intelligent power distribution and real-time traction management, delivering a composed and confidence-inspiring driving experience across sealed roads, rough surfaces, and longer-distance touring.
Up to 533km range, fast charging and V2L

Subaru says the Trailseeker has been engineered to balance long-distance usability with everyday convenience, placing just as much emphasis on charging flexibility and practical features as outright performance.
The electric SUV supports both fast public charging and higher-output home or workplace charging, while vehicle-to-load functionality adds further versatility for outdoor use and lifestyle applications.
| Specification | Subaru Trailseeker |
| Battery | 74.7kWh CATL |

Beyond charging, Subaru has also focused on usability, with towing capability positioning the Trailseeker as an electric SUV designed to handle more than daily commuting duties.
Still unmistakably Subaru
Subaru is keen to stress that the Trailseeker remains true to the brand’s core values. The standard dual-motor all-wheel drive system has been tuned by Subaru engineers to deliver predictable, confidence-inspiring traction in a wide range of conditions, aligning with the brand’s long-standing emphasis on safety, stability and driver assurance.
Subaru Australia: “The EV with personality”

Scott Lawrence, General Manager of Subaru Australia, said Trailseeker represents a new chapter for the brand.
“Trailseeker is the EV with personality. As the name suggests, this is the vehicle for drivers seeking adventure, who want to enjoy an engaging performance drive, all while remaining grounded in the confidence, safety and all-terrain capability that defines Subaru’s DNA,” he said.
“It shows that electric performance doesn’t have to come at the expense of confidence, control or real-world capability – the qualities our customers expect from a Subaru. And being the quickest Subaru production vehicle ever, it’s a fun and engaging drive in all conditions.”
Expanding Subaru’s Australian range
The Subaru Trailseeker will join an increasingly diverse brand line-up in Australia, alongside the next-generation hybrid Forester, the updated 2026 Solterra, and the all-new Outback and Wilderness range.
Australian customers can now register their interest ahead of the Trailseeker’s local launch, with full specifications, pricing, and final timing to be confirmed closer to its arrival.
