Suzuki Australia is set to introduce three all-new SUV models over the next 12 months. The Suzuki Fronx Hybrid, Suzuki Vitara Hybrid, and Suzuki e Vitara represent a strategic expansion of the brand’s SUV portfolio, blending established reliability with modern design and electrified powertrains. Features and specifications for all of them have not been included in the announcement.

Michael Pachota

“This trio signifies our evolving presence in the market as we pivot towards a more sustainable, performance-driven future,” said Michael Pachota, General Manager – Automobile, Suzuki Australia.

All-New Suzuki Fronx Hybrid: Entry into the Light SUV Segment

Arriving 1 September 2025, the Suzuki Fronx Hybrid introduces a bold new design direction for the brand. The Fronx aims to attract a younger demographic seeking a stylish yet compact SUV as an upgrade from smaller hatchbacks.

Key Features:

  • Sleek coupe-inspired SUV styling
  • Refined driving dynamics
  • Latest Suzuki safety technology

“With the launch of the all-new Fronx Hybrid, we’re combining unique sporty styling with SUV heritage,” said Pachota. “It will open the doors to younger buyers looking to upgrade to something more dynamic.”

Suzuki Vitara Hybrid: Electrifying the popular choice

Set to launch in Q1 2026, the Vitara Hybrid builds upon the well-known practicality and adventure-readiness of the current Vitara small SUV, now enhanced with an efficient hybrid powertrain.

Suzuki’s move to electrify the Vitara aligns with a broader sustainability strategy, addressing growing customer interest in eco-conscious mobility solutions.

Highlights:

  • Improved fuel efficiency
  • Enhanced safety and driver assistance features
  • Seamless transition to hybrid without sacrificing everyday usability

“This is a major milestone,” said Pachota. “We’re introducing electrification while staying true to what makes the Vitara such a popular choice.”

Suzuki e Vitara: First all-electric model

Also scheduled for Q1 2026, the e Vitara marks Suzuki’s debut in Australia’s fully electric vehicle market. Building on the established Vitara SUV brand identity, the all-electric e Vitara aims to balance performance, capability, and zero-emissions driving.

Expected Features:

  • Fully electric BEV platform
  • Electric four-wheel-drive capability (ALLGRIP-e)
  • Sleek and functional exterior design
  • Zero-emissions performance

“The e-Vitara is our bold step into the future of mobility,” said Pachota. “It delivers on reliability and capability, while embracing the future with zero-emission performance.”

Official specifications and detailed pricing for the Australian market will be announced closer to launch.

What’s Next?

With the Suzuki Fronx Hybrid arriving in September 2025, and both the Vitara Hybrid and e Vitara following in Q1 2026, the carmaker is poised to significantly expand its footprint in the Australian electrified SUV space. These upcoming releases could mark a pivotal shift for Suzuki cars in Australia.
