Suzuki’s long-awaited Fronx Hybrid SUV is finally rolling into Australian showrooms, and the brand has confirmed a $29,990 drive-away deal for most of the country. First customer deliveries are locked in for September 1, 2025, marking Suzuki’s first all-new nameplate launch in over a decade.

A better deal than expected
Initially listed at $28,990 plus on-road costs, the Suzuki Fronx Hybrid is now being offered nationally at a fixed $29,990 drive-away price. That figure makes it one of the most competitively priced hybrid SUVs in Australia, bringing buyers certainty in a segment where “plus ORCs” often add thousands on top of the advertised sticker.
The only exception is Suzuki Queensland, which handles sales in Queensland and NSW’s Northern Rivers region. There, the same car is priced at $30,990 drive-away, about $1000 more than in other states. Queensland buyers do benefit from slightly cheaper paint upgrade costs, but overall, Queensland remains the priciest place to buy Suzuki’s new SUV.

A new chapter for Suzuki Australia
The Fronx is Suzuki’s first all-new model for Australia in over ten years, slotting under the Vitara in size and price. Developed by Suzuki’s Maruti division in India, it shares underpinnings with the updated Baleno hatchback, a car Australia never received, but arrives here as a fresh contender in the fast-growing small SUV category.
Compact dimensions, full features

At just under four metres long, the Fronx is shorter than many mainstream small SUVs, yet it packs in a surprisingly premium set of features as standard since it’s only offered in one grade at launch.
Key equipment includes:
- 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine with 12V mild-hybrid system
- Six-speed automatic transmission with Sports mode
- Heads-Up Display (HUD)
- 360-degree surround-view camera
- Heated front seats
- Wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto
- Wireless charging pad
- Accented leather upholstery and leather steering wheel
- Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, Blind Spot Monitoring, and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert
In Queensland, the model is badged as the GLX, while Suzuki Australia markets it simply as the Suzuki Fronx Hybrid.

Paint and options
The only extras are premium paint finishes:
- Single-tone colours: +$745 nationally (+$690 in QLD)
- Two-tone options: +$1345 nationally (+$1190 in QLD)
Buyers can pick from a palette of seven colours, including striking dual-tone combinations like Lucent Orange + Bluish Black and Opulent Red + Bluish Black.
Rivals and positioning
Price-wise, the Fronx Hybrid sits in the sweet spot between budget-friendly small SUVs like the Hyundai Venue, Kia Stonic, and MG ZS, and slightly larger, more expensive competitors such as the GWM Haval Jolion, Nissan Juke, and Chery Tiggo 4.
For urban drivers, downsizers, or first-time hybrid buyers, it could be one of the sharpest value picks in 2025.
