The three-door Suzuki Jimny will return to Australian showrooms in February 2026, following a pause in production. Suzuki Australia confirmed the updated model will bring additional technology and safety equipment, and these updates will carry a premium.
Suzuki says it currently has around 600 back orders for the three-door Jimny, which returns in a two-variant range: Jimny Lite and Jimny.
2026 Suzuki Jimny prices
| Variants | Price (RRP) |
| Jimny Lite (Manual) | $31,990 |
| Jimny (Manual) | $33,990 |
| Jimny (Automatic) | $36,490 |
Both variants are priced up to $2000 higher than before, which Suzuki attributes to the added standard equipment.
Tech and features upgrades
The 2026 Jimny features an infotainment upgrade, with the Jimny Lite now equipped with a 7.0-inch touchscreen featuring Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while the standard Jimny receives a larger 9.0-inch display.
The Jimny Lite no longer includes a CD player for 2026 and appears to miss out on the new 4.2-inch instrument cluster that was revealed in Japan earlier this year.
New safety and driver assist tech
All three-door Suzuki Jimny variants will receive additional safety equipment as standard, including:
- Front and rear parking sensors
- Lane departure prevention
- Adaptive cruise control
- Upgraded Dual Sensor Brake Support System II
Suzuki Australia general manager Michael Pachota said the Jimny continues to be a key model for Suzuki in Australia despite the challenges of the New Vehicle Efficiency Standard (NVES).
Pachota said the Jimny would maintain its traditional character, stating: “Jimny’s price increase is driven purely by specification updates. Rest assured, Jimny is here to stay, and it will continue to embody the legendary purity that has defined it from day one.”
He reiterated that Suzuki’s promise of “For Fun, For Ever” remains central to its pricing strategy.
Jimny powertrain
Suzuki has made no mechanical changes to the Jimny for 2026, as it continues to be offered with the same petrol-transmission options and serious off-road capabilities.
| Specification | Suzuki Jimny |
| Engine | 1.5L Petrol |
| Power | 75kW |
| Torque | 130Nm |
| Drivetrain | 4×4 |
| Transmission | 5-speed manual/ 4-speed automatic |
| Fuel Tank | 40L |
| Fuel Consumption | 6.4-6.9L/100km |
Market positioning
The return of the three-door follows a stop-sale of the India-built Suzuki Jimny XL five-door earlier this year, and a pause in shipments of the Japan-made three-door. While Suzuki sales are down almost 20 percent year-to-date, the Jimny remains the brand’s best-selling model, accounting for almost half of all sales.
With improved supply and added technology, Suzuki aims to maintain customer demand as the updated model arrives in 2026.
